The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

I'm not worried about a f'ing pool liner. Your President is. He's been f'ing obsessed with it for f'ing weeks. You know, the best f'ing President ever. You're tired of talking about the f'ing never-ending pool-liner ordeal? Take it up with him.

Shall we chalk up another spin move there Tibs?
See the legacy and social media.
It’s you people that have been obsessed with it for a couple of weeks.
Trump was merely responding to it, if even that.

That’s more important to your commie traitorous asss than Biden killing soldiers.

The Obama presidency is the only one in history that served as both a presidency and a cult.
Yeah, that was wild. Referring to him as the messiah, writing songs about him, among other things. After those 8 years, nothing else has come close.

Oprah called him “The One”.
Jamie Foxx called him “Our Lord and Savior”.

Children singing Obamas praises.
Sickening.

It absolutely is. Dear Leader is saying the economy is the best ever. Nobody here has said he’s dead wrong about that. It’s a cult.
Nobody said he’s right about this being the best economy either.
You’re in a cult.

What else you got?

I was down for most of obamas tenure but last few years it did come back some

About 6 out of 10 workers in the country participate in a retirement plan of some sort. I'm surprised it's that low considering most employers give at least 3% to you for free just by saving your own money. I retired about 8 years ago and use the 4% rule in taking out distributions to live on and my account is higher now than when I retired.

I get that gas prices are high due to the jihadists in Iran and it does affect prices on everyday items, but inflation today is < 3% and Sleepy had it over 9%, so best economy ever, IDK, but certainly better than the last administration.

😂 Nonsense, Do explain where the DJIA was at the beginning and end of the Obama and Biden terms and how it was your 401k was down. Liar.

Mine was down 100% after eight years of Obamunism. I had to liquidate it to pay off business debts to avoid bankruptcy after selling my company at a loss.
If I had kept on going though, Covid would have bankrupted me for sure, given our line of work.

Except that investing your own money in a company is different than getting paid by a company because of who you are and doing no work for them.

But it's still friends and family cronyism and war profiteering or at least eyeballs deep in the MIC -- all the things we thought we were voting against.

Almost all 401ks are up not just mine. You can look it up. But you won't.
You will go onto the next farce

It's public knowledge, out there for everyone to see. ✔️

Historically, 401(k) retirement portfolios have grown significantly across all these presidential terms, driven primarily by long-term stock market expansion rather than specific White House policies. Because the S&P 500 serves as the primary engine for most 401(k) plans (via index mutual funds and target-date funds), tracking the total or price returns of the index across these administrations provides the most accurate view of 401(k) health.

The performance of each administration breaks down below, based on S&P 500 price returns and total returns.

Follow-up, for added clarity. 🔎📈

Claiming that 401(k) balances are "higher under Trump" than under Democratic presidents Obama and Biden is factually inaccurate.

While the stock market performed exceptionally well during Donald Trump's first term, the compounding nature of retirement savings means that average 401(k) balances have hit consecutive record highs over time.

Consequently, the average American's 401(k) balance was significantly larger at the end of Joe Biden’s term than it was at the end of Trump's first term.

The historical data breaks down across several metrics:

1. Actual Average 401(k) Balances (The Real Dollars)

Data tracking from Fidelity Investments—the nation’s largest 401(k) provider managing over 25 million accounts—directly refutes the claim:

  • End of Obama’s Presidency (Q4 2016): The average 401(k) balance was roughly $92,500.
  • End of Trump’s First Term (Q4 2020): Driven by tax cuts and a post-COVID market rebound, the average balance rose to $121,500.
  • End of Biden’s Presidency (Q4 2024): Despite high inflation and interest rate hikes, a massive late-term artificial intelligence and tech bull market pushed the average balance to an all-time record of roughly $132,000.
  • Trump's Second Term (Current 2026): According to Fidelity’s Q1 2026 Report, early-year market volatility tied to geopolitical tensions and tariff announcements caused a minor dip, bringing the average balance to $141,000 (up 14% since Biden left office in Q1 2021).

2. Stock Market Returns (The Growth Percentage)

If the claim is modified to mean "market growth was higher under Trump," the data still shows a remarkably even playing field between the administrations. When looking at S&P 500 total returns (which includes reinvested dividends), the historical performance sits remarkably close:

  • Obama (Term 1): +100.1%
  • Obama (Term 2): +63.4%
  • Trump (Term 1): +81.3%
  • Biden (Term 1): +66.3%

Trump's first term outpaced Biden's single term and Obama's second term, but trailed Obama's historically strong first term.

3. The Flaw in Political 401(k) Claims

Political rhetoric frequently exaggerates 401(k) movements to sway voters. For example, fact-checkers like PolitiFact investigated a claim by Trump that the typical 401(k) went up $30,000 during a 13-month stretch of his second term. Data from Fidelity revealed the actual average gain during that specific window was $9,454—showing that while accounts did grow, the political claims were heavily inflated.

The Bottom Line

Retirement accounts are designed to compound over decades. Because the broad stock market historically moves upward over long cycles, the "highest" 401(k) balances will almost always belong to the most recent president, regardless of their political party.
