Historically, the market has always been good as long as you have the time for it to readjust when things go south.
The last quarter century saw at least 3 major adjustments that I'm aware of, 2000 drop of 47% and 3 years to recover, 2009, down 56% and taking 2 years to come back, and the latest 2022, down 25% and over a year to bounce back. I'm sure that there are more that I can't recall, but overall the last 25 years have been pretty calm. Point is the market always bounces back if you have the time.
The only one that really affected me long term was the housing mortgage fiasco in the 90's, that money took me forever to recover, and honestly, I doubt that I ever recovered on the growth my investments would have seen if not for the morons in DC at the time.

Basically none of that is true. The reflecting pool liner is a farce. I have stated that the damaged grass was more vandalism than the pool. I don't recall anyone saying leftists don't damage anything. I would be more concerned that trump claims there are no issues on the Lincoln and the record 9 month deployment was "not nearly long enough."

I do not believe the reflecting pool was damaged by leftists, rightists, or anyone other than Trump and his motorcade and rushed installation.
I never said 8647 was not politically motivated, but Comey was a lifelong republican till 2016 and is independent now. Trump has alot of enemies on both sides.
The lady that damaged the WWII monument seems leftist, but I have not seen any political association. Whatever she is, she is obviously guilty and deserves whatever happens. She was also living in a cardboard box and jail might be better than her current life.

What are the actual "facts" about the USS Abraham Lincoln? A handful of sailors out of about 5,800 are having a difficult time coping with the enlistment oath that they voluntarily signed up for? I've seen a lot of liberal media outlets running with this story and they seem to have a lot of political bias behind them.
A neighbor here on the mountain has a grandson (yes, we're older than dirt) currently on the Lincoln and has heard from him in the past week. He isn't complaining even with a few issues, knowing that it does nothing but give ammunition to our adversaries.
