The defenders looked pretty good everytime Kaleb or Eli had the ball.Let's not pretend that Allar was out there with the 1's. He was playing with guys that will be sacking groceries right along with the Packers' defenders.

He never had the physical tools Drew has. If he can finish washing off the Franklin stink he could be the guy.I remember Pickett looking incredible in his rookie year during preseason
So very different than the last decade!Even though this was a preseason game that means little when it comes to the regular season, I was encouraged to watch a game where this team put their opponent way early and not wait for heroics in the last 2 minutes of the game. Hope that translates when the games actually count.
You're putting me down for using Google? lolHis hands are the same size as Roethlisberger's and I always thought Ben had huge hands since he could pump fake and control the ball in snow and rain.
I think the 9.7" hand size is actually the average size of NFL QB's drafted in the first round between 2008 and 2020. (I can use Google too.)
So, yeah...top 30% is above average, like I said.Allar would be in the top 30% of all NFL QB's. Of the 16 QB's in the combine in 2026, two QB's had larger hands than Allar. Two.
I'm not basing my opinion on any and all clowns who show up to a scouting combine. Yeah, again, top 10 out of 32 NFL starters would be the 31st percentile...above average. Jordan Love has 10.5 inch hands -- now that would classify as "huge" to any reasonable observer.Of the 15 QB's in the 2025 combine, zero had larger hands, two (Graham Mertz and Tyler Shough) had equal size.
So in the past two combines, of the 31 QB's who participated, 2 had larger hands than Allar. 2 out of 31. That puts Allar in the top 10% of that group.
Looking over starting NFL QB's, I believe nine have larger hands (Trevor Lawrence, Michael Penix, Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, Jordan Love, Matthew Stafford Aaron Rodgers, Justin Herbert, CJ Stroud). Allar would be in the top-10 basically.
Thanks for helping me prove my point. You did great. So like I was saying ...
So let me get this right.....
What you are essentially saying is you really love a man with huge hands?
You're putting me down for using Google? lol
Where else would you like me to gather information about NFL QB hand size? Out of my asshoIe?
So, yeah...top 30% is above average, like I said.
You did great.
Easily. His throws look effortless and if he's able to acclimate to the speed and complexity of the NFL game, he'll be able to make throws that Rudolph and Howard can't. We'll see if Allar ever gets to that point.Allar looked like he had the better NFL arm than Howard, it didn’t really even seem close.
Next game should be only 1-2 series with Rudy and then Allar with the 2s imho.
I’d predict another game or two like that and the writing is on the wall for Howard, stands a good chance of losing a numbers game.

Whether the Steelers feel comfortable enough to move ahead with Allar in 2027, or maybe bring in Baker, the QB will be setup for success. They'll basically be returning every RB, WR, TE, and OL in the starting lineup for 2027.
Very well said. Players like Ben, Rodgers, Elway, Marino, Favre, and Allar simply have a different level of velocity than your Pickett, Rudolph, or Howards of the NFL. That doesn't mean they can't or won’t be successful; it just means they will need to succeed through preparation and what is between their ears. Look at Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Neither had a lot of physical talent, but both worked hard in the film room and during preparation. Here's the difference......every time Kenny threw the ball i thought , we'll hes gonna have to suceed through film study and intelligence because the ball he threw did not have zip. Those outs across the field which are like 40 yard passes did not get there in a hurry and that's because he had to put more arch on the ball to get it there.
When you have a QB with elite velocity, he can zip it there more quickly . Thats less reaction time for the defense. Thats a higher probability of success. Same thing with zipping it downfield between defenders. The guys who can zip it are giving the D less closing speed. This game sometimes comes down to small margins. Elite vs elite and a cannon arm DOES make a difference in many situations. He still has to read defenses and he still has to have ball placement but he's working with an advantage over Pickett types from the get go. Steelers picked potential in the 3rd. Pickett never had that potential
Its just genes

Against starters while missing his top two receivers he went 10/11 93 yards and would have been 11/11 for 100 yards and touch down if not for Bernard not getting both feet in. I don't think he has any concerns about not being the backup.I see that your undying love for Rudolph is still burning brightly all these years later.
Colbert was desperate to leave a legacy QB and not be the guy who passed on Marino. The shadow of that failed opportunity doomed us to taking Kenny. And yet, the Tomlin took him in the 1st, small hands and all.
Allar was one of three third round picks,……… even I can do that math.
Allar is more valuable today than Kenny is even with all his year’s of experience.!!!
Salute the nation
His arm and ability to throw were never in question. It has always been his pocket presence and ability to avoid the rush. He isn’t immobile he just isn’t aware of how and when to move instinctively. He got better then plateaued. It is why he has had a record of getting hurt. Howard and Allar showed more pocket presence than he ever has in their limited time. This is coming from someone who also has supported the guy.Against starters while missing his top two receivers he went 10/11 93 yards and would have been 11/11 for 100 yards and touch down if not for Bernard not getting both feet in. So, if Google is wrong and the average hand size of an NFL quarterback is not 9.7 inches, please do tell what the correct answer is, and how you derived it. Thanks in advance. No, I am pointing out that you made an inaccurate claim (average NFL QB hand size, when that was a stat showing average size for first-round draft pickes 2008 to 2020). Not what you claimed.
It sure is. Pretty far above average, but nowhere near the "huge" category of Jordan Love.Top 30% of NFL QB's is pretty far above average.
You're still doing it...lol.I usually do.
Did you like Rudolph's "best command and read" of the three when he completed a 2-yard pass on 4th-and-goal from the 3?Against starters while missing his top two receivers he went 10/11 93 yards and would have been 11/11 for 100 yards and touch down if not for Bernard not getting both feet in. He has a solid tutor in McCarthy and AA Ron. So that should definitely help his cause…Allar needs to prove that he has the brains to decipher defenses. He couldn't do it at Penn State but he didn't have anyone teaching him either, like he has now. Before either him or Will can become the two, they would need to demonstrate some of that ability. In this sense, Will has a huge leg up on him as he learned quite well at OSU.
Howard has those same tutorsHe has a solid tutor in McCarthy and AA Ron. So that should definitely help his cause…
Howard consistently ran out of clean pockets. I’m all for keeping Howard but let's be honest. He is the 4th best quarterback on this team. This is coming from someone who also has supported the guy.
Yes.Did you like Rudolph's "best command and read" of the three when he completed a 2-yard pass on 4th-and-goal from the 3?
If he isn't we better hope Rodgers doesn't get hurt. He'll be a backup somewhere for sure. Hopefully it's just not in Pittsburgh.
True he should get the same tutelage and opportunities. I wasn’t trying to omit him.Howard has those same tutors
