Least concern/biggest concern

For me least concern is front seven. If healthy they should have all bases covered. Roberts can bring it vs. Run game. Wilson can play pass and run. Good D line and best edge group in league. If the back end pulls its weight its a top 5 defense. I also think the kick/ punt game is in good hands.
Biggest concern is the Tackle play. Literally all of them have turnstile moments. Terrible. No one is looking reliable and no well we can always run right or left.
Long term qb play. After a opening game of hope, not much to think they aren't going to have to spend a first and possibly trade up.

Least concern:

The salary cap and the Steelers paying everyone more than market value…ain’t my money and the cap is an illusion
 
Early on the oline will be an issue until it gels... the secondary should be great but may take time to adjust to the different coverage scheme in real time.

All in all its hard to say, because starters barely played this offseason...

I do think Howard is an NFL grade backup QB, but pretty far behind Rudolph right now...
Allar is still Raw... he is a two or three year project like Rodgers was..
 
QB is still big concern considering the age / mobility vs the Rudy show.

Least concern is sold out stadium and fans that are illegitimate football nowlwedge, both gimme’s.

Least concern - Red flag challenges in games

Biggest concern - Offense. The line is not looking great so far (yeah, I know, preseason) and the mid to lower tier receiver corps.

Biggest hope - Allar starts to shine (not sure how that might happen), and a great draft position this coming Spring.

Exactly right! I have very little confidence that this OL especially the tackles can keep Father Time from getting mauled.
My biggest fear is Rodgers dumping the ball off to avoid getting hit. He did that a lot last year and it could get worse this year. He has very limited mobility now so this could get ugly.

After seeing Allar and Howard in the preseason I would take Allar 8 days a week over Howard. Not saying either guy is this or that, but it looks pretty obvious which guy has natural ability and a higher ceiling.
 
I think the biggest concern is the oline, especially tackle. Hopefully they just need time to gel. Defensive line / LBs are solid. Secondary is a little concerning, but we didn't have the full set of starters and I'm assuming they were playing vanilla defense and no game planning. Our guys seemed to have footing issues which didn't help. Offense is hard to say since we have since we haven't been playing starters.

I think we will learn a lot about the oline coach. I know draft capital isnt everything but its not like he doesn't have any talent to work with.

Hard not to agree with this. The cap money and 2nd/3rd contracts are all on the defensive side of the ball, so those guys better be decent.

But I agree, my big concern right now is the recent offensive line picks. They invested heavily with draft capital to get younger/better on the O-line and I'm not quite sure we're reaping the benefits of that investment. You could argue Jones' injury was a bummer, but it wasn't like he was headed to startdom before the next injury happened.

Maybe finding the best 5 guys and actually having them play together, snap-after-snap-after-snap (not happening in pre-season for sure) will help them develop into an average group and expose who the good guys are, but man does that seem like a long way away right now.

And the QB is the QB. Rodgers is now an average QB running an average offense even on the best days. I know we are hoping for McCarthy magic, but I am still a firm believer that no one on the roster right now is going to get us into a top-10 offense (which I firmly believe is what you need to go deep in the playoffs now).
 
Last year I blamed alot of the line struggles on the oline coach, but things still have not looked promising. We have too much talent to be bad there. The one sack Max gave up i don't know if he even touched the guy. Training camp was rough due to the weather so maybe they just need time to adjust to the new scheme.
 
It’s only preseason but the line is a complete disaster! Their swapping the tackles around…AGAIN… is a disaster! Cook has just getting comfortable on the left so what do the Steelers do? Move him to the right! They have moved fautanu 3 times now it ridiculous. They never really gave dunker a chance word around camp was they were SAVING him for next year! They will get the qb killed regardless of who’s playing. The defenses knowing the young line is porous will pin their ears back.. we have no run game no pass game it’s going to be ugly! And watching the first round pick? Who’s scouting the offensive line for the Steelers? They should be hauled up in front and fired! They is no way to salvage this mess we just have to hope these guys realize the reality of the situation and galvanize. But I’m not going to hold my breath.

It will take adjustment and actual game speed time for that OL to come together.

I’m not expecting they play full perfect out of the gate.

Our speculation will be much different from game one to game 6.

I just want to be able to see improvement from game to game.

Exactly. Oline is technique, plus communication plus execution. But some of it has been fundamentally terrible. That block Broderick threw for Johnson was JV at best.

I see this offense finishing top 16 - 12 somewhere in there.

Add in the defense finishing 11- 4 (7-4 Joey signed) somewhere in there.

Deljzc, you hit the nail on the head with the Rodgers distinction.

I think he ranked 22 in the league (slightly below average) last season.

I don’t see him suddenly becoming a top 12 QB or a deep playoff contender at the QB position.

Obviously I will root to the end of time and HOPE is large in my heart.

Didn’t see the play but maybe he had no choice. Kind of like a DB having been beaten committing pass interference in hopes he doesn’t get caught.
