At his age he isn’t going to be a major special teams player. Did you not watch preseason? While he made a mistake or two Bruener also made some plays. He was also mentioned in camp as much improved on defense.

Roberts has 4 years experience, he doesn’t have to go through waivers. He can sign directly to the PS

they know he'll be available later, if he had a market he wouldn't have been on his couch four weeks ago

Litos’s nail on head statement. If he wants to sign elsewhere he can, but no one wanted him until we signed him 2 weeks ago. He will get game checks if he signs to our PS.

When I see this guy look good against starting level NFL talent Ill he happy to eat my words. And if Roberts is just a game snd they bring him back.....fine. but they lack a really good aggressive run stuff ILB in my opinion.

I doubt he is ever quite starter material but if he is serviceable enough to fill in and provides great special team play I get why they would keep him.
