So a great job in your eyes is drafting a guy in the first few rounds, then after realizing the guy sucks and should have never been drafted that high, trade them away in 2 years for a late round pick? Wonder why more GMs don't adopt that awesome strategy?
I think Khan has done well overall, but it's still a mixed bag. Here's how I'd categorize the guys he's drafted--this only considers the end product, not the value of the draft position. Zero franchise-altering players in 3 drafts so far and I'm not sure if there's a guy with that type of potential in the most recent draft.
Franchise Player:
None
Elite (All Pro):
None
Great (Pro Bowl):
None
Good (top-10 at position):
Joey Porter Jr. (future Pro Bowler?)
Nick Herbig (interesting case because he's an excellent pass rusher, but limited snaps)
Zach Frazier (future Pro Bowler?)
Above Average (top half of positional group):
Darnell Washington
Mason McCormick
Average (solid starter):
Keeanu Benton
Troy Fautanu
Payton Wilson
Derrick Harmon
Below Average (capable but replaceable):
Spencer Anderson
Logan Lee
Jack Sawyer
Yahya Black
Will Howard
Carson Bruener
Bust (big underachiever or never played):
Broderick Jones
Cory Trice
Roman Wilson (potential to move up this year)
Ryan Watts
Kaleb Johnson
Donte Kent
Factor in his trades and signings, several of which were heavily influenced by the coaching staff IMO:
*Aaron Rodgers is what he is.
*DK Metcalf has been underwhelming and the contract looks bad so far.
*Jalen Ramsey (see above).
*Michael Pittman - we'll see about this one, I think this will end up being good move.
*Patrick Queen has been better than Metcalf and Ramsey, but hasn't completely lived up to his contract.
*Isaac Seumalo was a good move and would've been even better if not for the injuries.
*Jonnu Smith - oof.
