Removing forests and having billions of people / machines producing pollutants has to have some negative effect on the planet. The issue is climate activists resort to extremes and make wild claims instead of just being practical. I think humans should respect the planet more in general. It has to be a worldwide effort and not have some of the worst polluting countries have little to no regulations. Who wants to goto beaches with garbage floating around and nasty water.

Problem is that it doesn’t matter what WE do, China and India will never pollute less. China is financing a lot of the Greenie groups so they hurt OUR industries but not China’s. If the Greenies told China and India to clean up their act, if the Greenies are lucky they’ll smile and nod and tell them to **** off, if they’re not lucky they’ll get shot or run over with tanks.

Funny story but the whole thing is too long for this space.
20+ years ago my late father was on the board of an MRI manufacturer. They were working on a deal to sell some MRI machines to China. Dad was your typical white American suit and tie businessman, Type A workaholic, full throttle all the time. Temu Donald Trump.
I was just out of grad school where I had a class in international business and learned that not all cultures are the same or with the same priorities and values.
Tried to tell him that selling in China doesn’t work like selling here.
It didn’t go well for them in China.

I got mine. Electrical inspector coming on Thursday to give the go-ahead to switch them on. Burgundy goes green.
 
The bubble head prompter readers out here are making sure everyone knows the 3 hottest summers in Phoenix have occurred in the last 7 years.
Oh, the horror!

It wouldn't have anything to do with tearing out all the orange groves that were everywhere when I first moved here and replacing them with asphalt would it?

This is where I am. I think the problem is more and more concrete, asphalt, houses and buildings. So many man made things just absorbing heat, and less and less trees, fields and greenery in general. I think this is a greater contributor to “climate change” than cow farts.

Yet for some reason the global elites who worry about climate change only want to stop population growth of hwyte pepo and third-world pepo.

Right you are. Mesa used to be orange groves. Now it is a part of pheonix
 
i tend to believe that the underwater volcanos deserve a little blame for all this climate change.

I took a PT test in one of those orange groves in June of 2000. We were out there at like 10 AM. Thought I was gonna die during the 2 mile run.

2000 it had already become part of Phoenix.back in the 70s and into the 80s there was separation. From Phoenix to Mesa to chandler to tempe all had desert in between. Now just 1 big city.
I guess it is like that everyhere

Built my house in '83 north of Bell Rd which was pretty much the city limits then. Everything to west in Glendale was nothing but horse farms and orange groves, all gone and replaced with houses.

Do you remember when apache junction used to be a short drive from Mesa? All together now.
