College Football Week 2

Mannings numbers would have looked good if it weren't for 2 drops Those cost him 70yrds a TD and he would not have had an int. He did overshoot some WRs, but OSU is certainly not a pushover. He played well at the end of last year and got revenge against OSU. He is probably not gong to be Peyton or eli, but I still think he has a shot to be good

I hear you on all account jitter, but I’d venture to say that one of Arch’s biggest pet-peeves is being compared to Payton or Eli.

I’know why the comparison, but deep down I’d bet Arch despises it due to not getting to actually be himself in ability.

Salute the nation

Art Smith sucks.
Julian Sayin is no Will Howard.
And the kicker needs to stay in Texas.
Still a lot of season left though.
Mostly agree, but Sayin is waaayyyy more accurate a passer than Howard ever was.
Pass protection needs work. Pass rush needs work. Inside LBs look soft against the run. Get the other WRs involved more.
I know Day has a NC, but I liked him a lot better when he was Urban Meyer's OC. Try to hang 60 on everybody! Don't play Marty ball with a 20 point lead. And don't turn a great offense over to a mediocre journeyman like Artie Smith.

Another good game for Penn State. not perfect but things are coming along. Rocco Becht looks great at QB. You can see the experience. The WRs could have made a few more plays including a TD that should have been.

I think the run blocked was decent but the RBs didn;t do much with it. It's just 1 RB really, the starter Carson Hansen who came over from Iowa State. Maybe it's loyalty, maybe it's because he's most familiar with the offense, but he's can't be the starter going forward. Or at least they need to ramp up the carries for Peoples and Quentin Martin. Hansen just gets the minimum that the blocking allows.

The bad news is they lost the best pass rusher DE Max Granville for the season. They were already thin there. They'll likely have to blitz more once Big 10 play starts unless a backup emerges as a star.

It was unbelievable how Ohio State choked that game away. They got up big and thought they could just cruise. That was some James Franklin stuff right there.

Ryan Day has never coached a game where he had a talent disadvantage. There's zero chance Day could have won a title with Indiana's roster last year.

Yeah but…
They didn’t cover the spread!
😁

Agree about Hansen. On Saturday, Peoples broke one around the left where he jumped over the DB and my son says, “I don’t know how Campbell watches that and keeps starting Hansen.” And he’s right. Hansen is a slow, plodding back that is going to be more of a liability once the BIG schedule starts.
