Do not forget that several years ago, during one of his manic phases, our Hungarian poster did self diagnose himself with severe TDS.

Every once in a while, like the last few days here, the posting becomes more cogent as the therapy and the meds somehow meld more peacefully with personal/local stresses and you get a few reasonable posts like this last page.

It won't last, even if he promises again this year; at some point the cheese slips back of the cracker, the TDS rage boils over and even the nicer posters here are Trump nazis to him.

IRS Tax Tip 2026-06, Jan. 26, 2026

The One, Big, Beautiful Bill has a significant effect on federal taxes, credits and deductions. Millions of taxpayers reported earning tips and overtime on their tax returns, many of them are veterans and people working in lower wage jobs. This relief will impact most of these taxpayers and they can start taking advantage of the deduction this filing season.

No tax on tips​

Employees and self-employed individuals may deduct qualified tips received in certain qualified occupations, such as wait staff, bartenders, salon workers, personal trainers, gig economy workers, and many more who customarily and regularly receive tips might qualify.

Taxpayers may be able to claim a deduction for qualified tips paid to them in 2025 that are included on Form W-2, Form 1099-NEC, Form 1099-MISC, Form 1099-K, or reported directly by them on Form 4137.

  • “Qualified tips” are voluntary cash or charged tips received from customers or through tip sharing
  • Maximum annual deduction is $25,000; for self-employed, deduction may not exceed individual’s net income, without regard to this deduction, from the trade or business in which the tips were earned.
  • The deduction phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $150,000 ($300,000 for joint filers)

No tax on overtime​

Individuals who receive qualified overtime compensation may deduct the pay that exceeds their regular rate of pay, generally, the “half” portion of “time-and-a-half” compensation, that’s required by the Fair Labor Standards Act and reported on a Form W-2, Form 1099, or other specified statement furnished to the individual.

  • Maximum annual deduction is $12,500 ($25,000 for joint filers)
  • Deduction phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $150,000 ($300,000 for joint filers)
  • The deduction is available for both itemizing and non-itemizing taxpayers

Tibs is still 100% better than the trog guy. Trog a few months ago acted like he knew more about my 401k(that I was actually looking at) than i did.

I know Trump has not fixed everything. I get it. But you know the grocery store being sooooo expensive now? Well I am making more$$ in the last few years so I notice, but am still coming out ahead

Regarding the $4.50 gas, is that the national average? That's about right here in blue Arizona, but I can get it for $4.09.
I don't necessarily have a problem with it because we, the US of A, prevented Iran, or at least stymied them from getting a nuclear weapon.
Under Sleepy, gas hit $5 a gallon because the Democrats printed money and killed American energy. Those are two very different issues.
Which one is everyone here OK with?
