Can someone explain to me the parking at Heinz field. I have been on-line and it looks like it cost upwards of 200 bucks to park. I will be driving in from AL for the Thursday game against the ravens. My son and daughter and I wanted to make a trip out of it. but holy hell 200 bucks to park.
Any ways we wanted to tailgate and maybe meet up with some people here I just want to know the scoop so I don't get ripped off.

thanks... Joe

joe,, parking around the stadium is pre purchased and you wont get in them.. You can park just past PNC park under the bridges,, or up on the hill in the north side.. you will be paying around $40. Of course there are others here who may have good advice. I would park somewhere on the south side and ride the T train over.

Thanks for the info. this will be our first steeler game so I wanted it to be special. we will be in sec 137 row W. from what I can see on the computer they seem to be pretty good seats.

If you get there early you can pay $35 and park in Red Lot 5 Garage. That's where CPollock and I will be tailgating. You're more than welcome to join us. Its $5 a person and we bring all the food once we know how many are attending. And obviously byob

And those should be awesome seats. About the 30 yard line and back far enough you can see the field.

sounds awesome where is red lot 5?

The casino right across from Heinz has a garage that was $50 when I last went. Granted even $50 is a bit on the pricy side but, it sure as hell beats $200.

I park in Allegheny Center Mall. $25 last year, it's not a far walk and you go past Dom's tailgate.

If you are looking to tailgate on your own, I can't help you, but if you just wanted to go to a tailgate, there are $5 lots downtown.

really wanted to hook up with some people from here. I have been here so many years I can't even count them anymore and have never met anyone from the site in person. I kept telling my kids how awesome some of the people here were, it would be nice to meet up with some of you. Gonna be in town sometime on wed morning so any ideas of what to see and do would be great.

Dom's (Stlrs4life) tailgate is probably the best place.

Here's a map. And by early I mean like 10-11. Just let me know I know the people who run the garage and I can make sure you get a paid parking spot.

that is for a 1 o'clock game -- this is a Thursday night game -- may have to account for people parking there all day for their jobs there may not be as many parking as usual ... but there will be some .

Where are you staying ? other options are ---

If you are staying in the city I would say don't bring your car -- walk to the stadium or take the T --- it you are staying outside of the city -- see if the place you are staying at has a Shuttle to take you to the game... I do think if you park at the casino they give you free play for parking there - DO NOT QUOTE me on that but they want you to gamble so I think they do

You are welcome to come to our tailgate or to Dom's .. Just let us know which one you are planning to eat at -- we need to make sure we have enough food ..
