Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Thursday encouraged all Israelis with a gun license to carry a weapon with them at all times in order to counter a recent wave of Palestinian attacks.

I'm curious because Israel is a democracy, supposedly.

Did you even read what he wrote? He said do it somewhere else, like at a mosque or a liberal think tank. You inserted kids and added it to a place of worship. Lots of inference can be made. You missed his intended inference and inserted your own, which was different than his intent.

If you're going to quote someone, quote someone instead of playing the inference game.

Most people take their kids with them when they go to worship, that's common knowledge.

And why not then a church? There's way more of them if you want to kill worshipers you can do it just as well there...

And I'm just trying to understand the logic of why killing families who are going to pray is somehow better than killing college kids. Both things seem pretty horrible to me.

My guess is that Indy didn't, necessarily, mean 'families in any mosque', but more toward those mosques that are more like recruiting facilities of the bad kind than anything else. No idea, but that is what I took from it.

Exactly. You were inferring you understood to be his intent from his written words, and changing the words he wrote. It was clear his "intent" was to suggest these nuts on psychiatric drugs take their shooting rampages to mosques (i.e., here is where you needed to infer...) where terrorists are being recruited and worship.

It ain't that hard.

What a bogus stupid stat. It counts everything from suicide to cops shooting armed suspects. How many people have died because of being beaten to death? Fact is gun deaths are low in comparison to the past and that more people are killed each year from many other things that nobody cares about because it isn't political.
