I personally think Osweiller is a solid QB, even a QB verging on great.

The Broncos seem to believe he's barely mediocre and they seem to want to make a really low offer designed to sign him for no other purpose than "keeping the light on" while the defense continues to do their thing and the front office can look for the next great white hope.

I think that's a poor choice.

You guys?

I liked what I saw out of him, don't know if he'll exceed that play by large margins or not. But the reality is this, he's better right now than Manning and a lot of other teams' starters. I think they'd be crazy to dick him around.

I wouldn't call him great. He showed some signs of being a potential starting QB but that was about it.

A terrible choice. They just won the super bowl, and to be blunt Osweiller was better than Manning. I'd describe Osweiller as solid. Why mess with a winning formula? Just don't give him a Flaco like contract.

Then again the Broncos could win a playoff game with Tebow, so perhaps they are thinking it won't be hard to find better than Osweiller.

John Elway has impressed me as a GM. He can really build a team and knows where and when to spend in free agency. One minor beef I have is the Steelers tie up a lot of cap space at positions like Center, Guard, Inside linebacker. While these positions are important, they impact the game less than pass rusher, cornerback and left tackle.

How good would he look on an average NFL team?

I would love to see him in Pittsburgh, but he is about 3 years too early.

I think I'd try to lock him down up to 14million. Something like 3/42 or thereabouts and allow him to void the 3rd year if there are certain criteria met. That seems like a reasonable price for a starting QB you're not entirely sure of, and he can renegotiate in a few years if he's more than competent.

Ariens should sign him yesterday to be the heir apparent for Rosey Palmer.

I think they almost have to sign him if (when) Manning retires. I don't think he'd be looking to break the bank but I feel he will want to be paid as a starter and probably get some upfront money.

I agree 100%, he's proven himself to be much more than serviceable.

His team really dominated the Steelers in their 2 games didn't it. We'll see how good he is when he has to manage the cap in his year after the SB.

I rather have him on a 12-14M contract than eLite Joe Flacco on a 20M

I know this is impossible and I'm wishing in one hand and ******** in the other but can we trade Vick, Jones and a 5th of good Irish whiskey for him to back up Ben

you might get two bags of doritos for Vick an Jones, the whisky just sweetens the deal for them

I am not sure if Osweiller has top-5 QB potentially, but he is good enough to keep the Broncos in contention for a long time. Not sure why they'd spend that amount of time developing him and then let him walk.

meh he is absolutely nothing special and that offense was rather bland with him in there. Career backup/ mediocre starter, like so many others. Elway is smart not to Flacco him

I still say he'd be a good backup here in the burg. Anything is better than jones or vick. ****, I'd take Tebow over those two jokers at this point. At least he can run.
