Lawrence Timmons has always played out of position. The few times he's come from the outside he's been a beast. It could be a game changer for this defense . At this point what would it really hurt ?? At least on passing downs why not let him have a try coming off the edge . We have got to get pressure

I know it looks bad but Artie burns is coming on and what if ( big if ) but what if Gilbert can pick it up by end of the year???? You make a move with Timmons and get Dupree back on left side and we could be in business...

Still use James in his packages ..

I ask at this time what could it hurt to give it a try. I've seen Timmons come off the edge a few times and it was usually pretty good looking ..

I've mentioned this week's ago, and Timmons is not that good coming off the edge. I will say this, he can't be worse than Jones coming off the edge and he's a much better player than Jones. Williams is our best tackler and that's what we need, so if Shazier and Williams are in the middle and Timmons at ROLB, that puts your best 3 LBs on the field and takes our worse off the field

I agree about getting those guys on the field

I disagree about him not being good off the edge. The few times and I mean very few times I've seen him do it he had good push and great speed Matter of fact he hardly ever gets to blitz but the times he does he usually gets pressure. Anyway if nothing else we should all agree what could it possibly hurt ?

It could be a breathe of fresh air to see Timmons Dupree with Gilbert and burns on back end. Or it could be a disaster. At least it would be different then seeing the same torching of the same thing each week

Timmons hasn't played there in a long time, that burst is fine, but still more if a burst than jones

While I don't think Timmons can be an ideal 3-4 OLB due to his age and lack of experience there, he might be able to help our 4 man rush, especially since Heyward is out.

So I'm okay giving him some nickel and dime snaps at DE on likely passing downs. He could not be worse than Jarvis Jones.

Our coaching staff doesn't make these type of adjustments often....

perhaps earlier when he had the speed, but he looks a step slow out there. On the outside I could go to the store and back before he would get to the QB.

I'm all for putting your best LBers on the field

Timmons was okay when pressed into OLB duty to due injuries early in his career. He didnt suck, nor was he an all-pro. Moving him now would not really fix the problem. The right move (and i think i just read this is the lineup going forward) is Deebo, Timmons, Shazier, Chickalo as our LB's.

I'm fine with getting Deebo on the field but really they been rotating every other series. I don't see where there is a true starter like that

I also think going every other series is some more ignorant coaching There's a reason you have starters. That means they are better. Cut this every other series BS

And the reason you rotate is because your "starters" are not good enough. Every single outside linebacker is backup talent right now.

Jones was on the field the final two Cowboy series
