I wouldn't hate it if he were our new OC by close of business tomorrow. I also wouldn't hate Rex Ryan as DC, no way he could do worse than Butler.

.Payton Manning is an interesting proposition and one definately needing to be considered. Would he want a job like that???? As for Rex, I'm not sure which Rex you'd get, the hungry wanting to work hard to win or the been there done that put in my time. DeRio would be one to consider and I'm sure there are a lot of others as well. Bottom line is we need a new DEFENSIVE staff, yes DC and DB coach and especially LB coach. Butler needs gone but Porter has contributed absolutely nothing except the penalty to get the Bungles win last year. I hope the STEELERS address this whole picture defenseive thingy.

Salute when the nation

Manning would be an interesting idea, IF he wants a job like that. Seems kind of like the Lynch thing in SF, start at the top plan.

LOL, Manning and Ben are water and oil. No way do we want a precision offense based around over coaching by the QB, Omaha , Omaha.

Manning is worth almost 100 million dollars, yeah give him a job under Mike Tomlin, LMFAO.

I'd rather have romo. He is right on with most things

You got any suggestions????? What about the Viking's QB coach,....can't think of his name off the top???

You give Manning a CHANCE to start at OC and if it works, he REPLACES Tomlin. Also the Next OC is not just about Ben, he is really on his way out, it is about going forward.

Truthfully, I think he would be better in the GM position. Let Manning fire Tomlin

Manning is one of the best offensive minds around and a great play caller, plus he LOVES throwing the ball, he would be a hell of an OC with the talent this team has.

I think someone who can draw up series of cohesive plays that build on each other is fitting then let ben call what he wants

Romo isn't the answer either as you are swayed by his PAID TALKING HEAD schpeel

Do you listen to what he says? He is good at predicting plays and has a good feel of the flow of the game. I guarantee he wouldn't call a toss sweep when you need a foot.

I dont know. He seems to see whats happening prior to the snap pretty well to me. Would love to see Todd diagnose something like that. Not saying he could or would. Just find it hard to believe Rod n' Todd could do that.

I like him more than any other former player out there right now. He calls it like he sees it. His record as a QB isn't relevant to how much he knows about football.

$$$$$$$$$$$$

His record is better as a football player than haley who NEVER played any football, no Pee Wee on up.

Manning will never coach. Why would any HoF player want to subject themselves to the rigors and uncertainty of being a coach in the NFL. If he wanted to remain in the game he would take Elway's route and become top management.

Being a coordinator he's allowed to see the field from a better perspective.

I think his analytical skills would transfer over to a coordinator position if he wants to

You know Haley has a good mind for designing plays he just is horrible at game day play calling, no feel for the flow or the right time to call the right play.

Oh my God, nobody from outside this organization, is going to be OC. Randy Fichtner will most likely be the new OC. if the Steelers don't resign Haley. it's what Ben wants, has wanted and the fact that Ben has been taking shot at him. leads me to believe Haley gone. which is why, he has said he's coming back.

Yep. Loved the Jags play calling and the incredibly designed TD pass to their FB. They knew we would be in cover 2 and the middle would be wide open and he designed a play for that exact minute while we have a hodge podge of plays that great individual talent have to overcome.

Haley never uses plays early in the game to set up plays later in the game.sad but I hope he is gone.

****, he could put a play book on his forehead.
