NFL fined its co-sack leader, TJ Watt, $20,054 for “forcibly hitting in the knee area or below” Falcons’ QB Matt Ryan, per source. The league office instructed the Steelers to deduct the money from Watt’s paycheck if he does not appeal.

why not have quarterbacks wear a pink stripe jerseys

Harrison had some that were WAY out there as well. Get use to it as the League is making DEFENSE obsolete, has to do with stats and fantasy football. That's there new audience and the HELL with the rest of yaz / us.

Salute the nation

93.7 The Fan reported TJ walked into the Steeler offices, was told about the fine and immediately turned around, walked out without saying a word. JJ is pissed, as well. Called the fine ridiculous and out of hand.

****, might as well do away with sacking the QB all together, give a throw clock, like a shot clock, the defenders can only bat passes down 😡

No "In the grasp" rule or anything like it. If the defender "taps" the QB on any part of his UPPER body, the QB is deemed sacked. However, the defender must be "gentle" with his tap, as too much force will be deemed as "roughing" the passer. If a QB is found to be flopping when touched, so as to draw the roughing call, his team loses 10 yards but you replay the down. Flopping is a judgment call on the part of the referees and will hardly ever be called/enforced.

FPFL - ******* Pansy Football League

WTF. That play was not even worth a flag. Now its a fine? What's going to happen if a Steeler hits Tom Brady?

Forcible? Seriously? Someone should have to answer publicly to these ridiculous fines.

Maybe it would help if Tomlin didn't loudly ***** to the officials. Let the team handle it. I'm telling you these guys carry grudges.

Nah, I look at it from another viewpoint. If you're going to be penalized/fined/ejected anyway, might as well make it worth your while. Hit him as hard as you can with a good follow-through. Like Bellatrix said to Harry Potter, "You really have to mean it".

That ply was the poster child of what the NFL is getting wrong. The flag was bad enough but the fine way out of line. Watching Ryan actually take a dive and then the flag came out was the ultimate flag happy seeing something not there officiating the NFL is so proud of.

Complete BS. This **** is going to be unwatchable before long.

The game as we knew it is officially dead. The hopes of the Steelers being smashmouth and stomp your *** defense are gone as well. How they can even fine that man 20 grand is beyond any logic or bullshit spin they can come up with.

This seems like a good place to make a shameful confession and to throw myself at the mercy of my SN brethren. Last Sunday, I had my TV tuned in to the game the whole time, but I found myself mostly watching Youtube videos for the majority of it and literally kept forgetting it was even on. I probably saw about 1 out of every 3 plays on average. I remember in previous years if I happened to miss one play I would grab the remote and go backwards to see what happened. Now it seems like too much work to even do that. To say my interest has waned would be an understatement.

This kind of stuff is one of the main reasons for my lost interest in the league.

Odd that he literally didn't even touch him on that play. That is a huge pile of BS.

Watt did everything possible to move out of the way. It's exactly what you want a defender to do.

WTF...If you're gonna get fined, ya might as well make it memorable.
