Official what we get for AB thread

If Brown is all that HE and everyone else says he is; then no way do you deal him for anything less than a first-round pick. How in the hell do you trade the "best receiver in football" for a second or a third? We are going to eat his cap money this year anyway so I let the little ***** sit the bench and fine his *** every chance I got. I also transition ag Bell and force his hand, et me some picks or set your punk *** at home again this year making no money; let's see what you get paid being out of the league for two years.

I swear for people that have to attend college for three years at least. These are some of the dumbest ************* I have ever seen, and we ain't even began to talk about their stupid *** agents.

I am all for sitting his *** for 2 years if we get nothing of fair value. You need to get a first or a good player back for a player of Browns caliber. Pretty much the best receiver in the league. Nothing is guaranteed you can draft 1st overall and end up with a bust. Brown is playing stupid *** games. Don't let him get away with it. If Brown gets away with it than other players might try the same to get out of a contract or move on to another team.

What message would it send to the rest of the team that if we didn't get a first we just kept him and never played him, **** I would have him running on the scout team. Hey AB be a good little ***** and go play Julio Jones game. It would tell the rest of the team; **** it we don't care about the money we just want all you ************* to know who's team this is. I think you would get control of the locker room back pretty quick.

I hear all ther Raider chatter, but.....Not sure Gruden will want a $21 million wide receiver in the 2nd year of his rebuild...Otherwise he would have kept Khalil Mack, no?

I still think we get a first rounder...Late, but someone will pony up...

I'm thinking NFC EAST because of their parity & they compete so heavily with each other...

I can see Dallas getting into this thing (We would get a #1 from them), & Philadelphia is Franchising FOLES & will get at least a 3rd for him...(maybe a 2 & 3 from them) Washington & Snyder has been known to overpay, and he would fit really good there...We could get a #1 from Wash I believe
Dallas gave up their #1 for Amari Cooper

I think the 49ers 2nd (36 overall) and a conditional 2020 pick. Something like if they make the playoffs or he is top 3 receiving yards first round. Over a thousand yards a second. Or leads team in receiving third. (Best of the three so only one conditional pick) But I would gather barring injuries he’d at least get us their 3rd.

Just for the record, Mr. Big Chest has absolutely no say in the trade / contract negotiations. The STEELERS could trade straight up for the raiders 1st round pick. The current contract goes with the player and the signing bonus guaranteed by the STEELERS, the STEELERS eat it on this years salary cap. The duration of the contract is as is or can be modified by the Raiders if they so chose (least ways this is how I see it,) I don't know where AB gets this new contract guaranteed money from???? Only if the new team restructures the contract. Maybe some one could correct me if I am wrong please...............

Salute the nation

True but no team is going to trade for Brown knowing he is unhappy with his current contract and wants to be paid as he has been saying.

A first and all or the majority of his bonus returned. Otherwise he can be the new sweatsuit model until he decides to fulfill his contract to best of his ability.

I dunno. It is hard to tell. Some teams might view it as a risk but having a chance to get a talent that usually never is available. We will find out real soon.

Anything less than a high first is a loss to me. I know it probably won't happen and we will end up with a ******* 3rd or something.
I'm hoping something unofficial has already been worked out.

lol yeah, sure. i'll let ol' art know, he'll get right on that.

I really can't understand how so many think the return on bABy, a 30 year old head case (31 at start of '19 season) is going to be high 1st round. Yes he's "BEEN" the best WR in the game for the last 5 years, but time is not on his side and no team, that's not on the cusp of a championship, is going to want to start a rebuild around that. Teams that are 1 piece away are going to be the most interested. The Steelers will be lucky to get a 2nd and probably not a high one at that, for the same reason. 9'ers are more than a WR from truly competing for a championship and the 34th pick is too valuable for a WR commanding 12 mil a year for next 3 years, especially if that player has demonstrated the ability to be a significant distraction if he's not individually happy/successful.

...probably the best chance of a 1st round pick may be #30 from GB (from NO). GB has 2 firsts with that pick and adding Brown's [on field] talent could be the piece that puts them over the top. They can address defense with their earlier 1st and an offense with Rodgers, Aaron Jones, Davante Adams, Brown and field stretchers like Allison/Valdes-Scantling would be frightening.

...maybe Indy, but I wouldn't want the Steelers to help improve a young, developing contender by giving them the last piece, for 3 or more years. The last 3-5 years with Ben would have NE and Colts and KC being young/tough impeding any chance to even get to a SB!

A few things...

1. Martavis got us a third. A first round pick this year is a must... just to start. If we are talking picks from next year... then a one AND a two... just to start.
2. The Steelers are still on the hook for a 20 mil cap hit EVEN IF we cut him. He gets traded OR he can sit at home. It will not change his cap hit.
3. He is not asking for MORE money... he asked for GUARANTEED money. I believe he has three years left totaling 36 mil or so. It is not all guaranteed. It could easily be converted to a fully guaranteed contract. The Steelers MAY even do that BEFORE the trade at the direction of the new team.
4. If we don’t get the right deal BEFORE the 2.5 mil is due... we pay it. If we need to wait until a team or two has a significant injury... so be it. We hold our mud.

Where's Mike Dikta???

Seriously though...

We spoke of it and the media has also made light of it BUT my first option is a "player for a player" trade. A 1st rd draft would be great BUT Jaylen Ramsey in the secondary is the BEST OPTION.

I know it's a pipe dream.

I understand the desire to set a strict precedent in dealing with malcontents, but just demoting him on the roster would basically be sacrificing the 2019 season, as it would be a disaster from a distraction standpoint.

It's unfortunate that it's reached this point, but the guy has to go.

He's been used correctly in Jacksonville.

A few things...

Martavis got us a third.

Bryant's contract situation was completely different. The financial liability was a lot less for the Raiders, which factored into the value they were willing to return.

The Steelers will get more than a third for Brown, but it's not going to be what most fans expect or want.

There are just so many contending teams that could really use Brown.

Even if the Steelers stick by what was initially indicated that they'll only deal him to an NFC team, you have the likes of the Bears, Eagles, Packers and 49ers, who seem to consider themselves contenders with a healthy Garropolo.

I believe the Steelers will ultimately end up with either a 1st or 2nd in addition to a 3rd or 4th, depending on exactly where the picks are.

That's my best guess.

A 1st from the Raiders

AB needs a muzzle. The more he tweets, the less value he has to the other teams.

The first given is he needs to go to a team with a lot of cap space.

My guess some team will offer us their first round pick. Or a really bad team that does not want to part with their first round pick will offer us their 2nd and 3rd.

I remember when I suggest Bryant should be traded. Some here laughed, then once it happened the rest of the board helped push the door shut on him as he was exiting.

All it takes is one team to want Brown and that will either be a team that needs an impact player to put them into contention or an owner who wants to add a splashy player.

All it takes is one to make "A Trade" but you want multiple teams to create the bidding war that gets you maximum value. It only takes one buyer to sell your house. But if there is only one or two you likely wont get asking price. It doesn't help that AB is constantly broadcasting that the foundation is cracked and the furnace is on its last leg.

Kettle calling pot 'black'. Hmmmmmmmm???

But Santonio was never on AB's level. Some team will give up a one, he's arguably the best WR in the league and under contract for two more years.

Also, Santonio had a 4 game suspension on the books and upcoming at the time he was traded. I think until a trade happens, you have to view Brown as rd1 pick-worthy. That's where you have to start.

Welcome back. In case you missed it AB called Ryan Clark an Uncle Tom and mentioned Ben who wasn't even charged had an owner like mentality and used the word rape on an incident he wasn't even charged on.

At this point, I want as much value for trade as possible then eff him. Usually I root for X Steelers to do well. Not this guy.

Get you thoughts in order before you post like a simpleton. AB called Clark an Uncle Tom after Clark recalled what happened at the time AB got his first big contract. While the "owner mentality" comment towards Ben was listed in his tweet. AB never mentioned Ben in any capacity regarding his prior legal issues. AB only liked a post from someone who posted Ben raped two college girls. He has since removed that "like" on the post.
