what they said was that when the Lions were on the clock they had a few guys rated highly and Ed was the top of those. They did not say who started the night as the #1 on their big board

Because of Coolie's threads about Ed last year I checked him out..he is a great looking player, obviously.
A great friend of mine is a hardcore Bills fan from Niagra so I told him about Ed last year before the season started. I figure the Bills have shot at him. He watched some clips and loved the guy...became obsessed with the guy...and they get the Guy. Pretty cool.

That's way too ******* many people in the war room for my liking, but that's just me I guess. Hell, every scout and their best friend seemed to be there. Calling mascots and fans during the draft? Are you kidding me?
Oliver is a great pick, but I question this group long term just based on how they have the room set up.

Del, it’s probably because they agreed to be one of the draft rooms to be shown live during the draft. Plus there is a NFL Films episode being done on what goes on during the draft. It will have several teams Draft Rooms involved.
Beane probably made it mandatory for everyone to wear a suit Thursday, since Dan Morgan is in one....and he (purportedly) is never in a suit. Plus get a load of the War Room itself....never seen one with so many glass walls.

Yeah...Pancho Bill. He’s big up there in Buffalo. Currently has cancer (no one will confirm whether it’s terminal or not) and is undergoing hard chemo. Brandon Beane apparently struck up a friendship with him when he became GM.

If we were the Bills in the position they were in. I think he is an excellent player but for example I think the Steelers got exactly what they needed. I dont think he would be nearly as valuable in the Steelers scheme with their personnel.
No, but if both Bushs were gone and I was picking for the Steelers, I would have to give serious consideration to picking Oliver where the BIlls did....they would need to make some changes to their schemes to make the best use of him though....
That would be the issue. I guess if I'm in charge in the war room Tomlin is gone so maybe it could happen. But Tomlin is not changing their defense. He only knows one.

Exactly right. Bush is Shazier II. He and the organization thought that their plan was working until Shazier got hurt. Don't expect those 2 DL sets to stop anytime soon. If everything goes as planned 1 DL sets aren't far behind!!!
