How about a thread for everyone with an idea on what should be done well this week and what aspects of the game we will need to focus on to get the win. Might be better to talk about some of that stuff instead of beating the dead horses some more.

My Keys to Victory

Quick short passes with a few long strikes on favorable down and distance situations.

Recievers need to be on their hot reads the yets are likely to blitz early and often.

Can not give up on the run game need balance to keep the defence honest.

Defense needs to blitz a lot from lots of different places. Coverage needs to be in position to make the tackle and not give up the big play. Keeping the team to shorter but more numerous plays to get down the field will maximise our chances to recover a fumble or for Vick to throw a pick. They have not been able to control the ball so we need to keep messing with their routine and throw their timing off.

Special teams get your head in the game fight free from holds and NO Dancing MT says so

Run the ball, pound them into submission. Score more points.

curl up into the fetal position and cry. hope for the best. expect the worst.

1. Run blitz on first down. Pound the A gap.

2. Put the Jets into 2nd and long. Rush 5 and break down pass protection.

3. See if they can stop the run with the front 7, and keep 2-deep. The Jets then are forced into shorter routes, even in 3rd and long. One tipped pass, sack, hold, or solid coverage, and drive over.

4. On offense, pass the ball on 1st down. 3 WR formations 1st and 10, take advantage of the Jets 3rd best CB covering Bryant. Force the Jets into nickel/blitz, and gash them with Bell.

That's my weekend plan too.

The jets have a terrible pass D... QB average a 112 passer rating vs them, by far the worse in the league. they are 5th in the league in sacks, though. Its also important to note, they have given up 24 passing TD's... 6 more than anyone else in the NFL. If ben gets any time another 6 td performance is a possibility, lol. they do have the 5th best yards per rush attempt in the league. its probably not a great idea to go into a run run pass gameplan vs them. This is simular to the baltimore game... If the Steelers want to pound the ball, they likely lose... they have to win on Bens arm again. The Oline has to minimize the inevitable blitz pressure and the wideouts should be literally wide open.

On the flip side the Jets have no real passing game per se. Vick will try to deep ball them, but otherwise they will rely on their top 5 rushing attack for offense. this would be the type of game that Big Mac out to be dressing for. this is absolutely stop the run and win the game material

You're SO smart!!!

5 wide is just the short version...

Win TOP. The Jets have a good running game and we have a bad run defense.

Seriously the Jets are probably going to be running most every play... this would be a great time to have some giant monster NT to clog up the center of the field... hint hint.....

Score TD's instead of FGs. Hold the Jets to FGs instead of TDs.

The Jets have a very good defense and run game. Don't let the ratings fool you. Amongst Brady, Manning, A Smith, Rivers, Stafford and Cutler...only Rogers was able to break 300 yds passing on them.

We have to be balanced in our attack as they have played close games against GB, NE and DET. They only really got blown out by San Diego earlier in the season.

We cannot keep the game close with this team. We must score like we will need it because we still haven't made ANY QB look average and Vick is still dangerous IF given time to operate.

We must be as aggressive on defense as we need to be on offense. We need to find out what we can do on D when the run IS shut-down due to being behind. To this point, we are allowing points and relying on our offense to be better.

This should be a good game for Heath and Bell catching balls out of the backfield. Mixed with the customary BOMBS.

Dude, talking about the football game, not your bedroom strategies...

have the coach swear up and down to the players that the Jets have a winning record

I guess it depends on how you characterize "blown out". They got hammered by the Bills 43-23 just 2 weeks ago. They've given up over 30 points 4 times this year and have only held one team below 24 points... and that was the Raiders in NY on opening day. Their defense is giving up a 63.4% completion, 24 Td passing to 1 interception. They may not give up a lot of yards but that's because their offense gives you the ball on their side of the field. They are 31st in points scored.

This is a seriously bad team that can't stop teams from scoring and can't score themselves. The offense is 30th in points scored. No reason not to pummel them this week.

I hear ya Vader. Thing is, that game was close 24-17 at the half. As it turned in BUFs favor in the second half, they were still held to 2 yds/carry and 68 total. In fact, the Jets out-produced in yards against most of the teams they have faced. Watkins alone accounted for more than HALF of the BUFs yards on 3 receptions.

They CAN play defense. It's hard to keep teams from scoring if it's your offense that is putting them in easy scoring positions too. They rank 8th in yards allowed/game. We haven't played a team yet in the top 20. Balt is 21st and Indy is 24th while...as bad as we have been, are 22nd.

I'm NOT trying to sound like Tomlin but these guys can play defense. Their offense on the other hand...they've given the ball away 18 times! 11 picks and 7 fumbles
