any amount of time without being forced to, at gunpoint? More like walking into a lion's den, or stepping into a hornet's nest. If anything, I'd describe myself as a masochist, who enjoys pain, suffering and being cold, surrounded by MAGA lifers, morning, noon and night. Over the years, I've enjoyed the banter, the clashing of political ideologies, the rare times it stays civil around here. But I've worn out my welcome many times over, I understand that. It's pretty obvious, when after literally every second or third post I'm attacked for being a
'Hungarian Soros troll' - sigh.
I get it, some of you simply can't deal with - gasp - people with opposing views. Thus the personal attacks, the slander, the ridicule. It does get old, for an old dude like myself. Not sure why I bother to keep coming back. I'm like a wet, stray dog getting the door slammed in his face over and over. It is perfectly clear, libtards are not welcome here. This is MAGA central, Trump's home base. Either fall in line or be ostracized. And so it goes....such is life. I could easily mingle on lefty messageboards and preach to the choir. Not much fun in that. I believe in America, and the promise of America, and I simply can't accept what is happening with the sugarcoating of Trump's presidency. So I keep coming back, to a slew of insults, to try to engage in conversation with you know-it-alls. It does help - somewhat - to wrap my head around how deeply committed and loyal many of you are to this president. Kind of a Margaret Mead thing, if you will, embedded with the savages.
It certainly does keep me entertained, even with all the hate & vitriol floating around.
As I've said many times before, I'm pretty sure I'd get along just fine with most if not all of you, if we ever happened to hang out sometime. As I do with many conservative friends going back decades. Under Trump though, it seems things have been ratcheted-up significantly, as far as the anxiety, antagonism and stress on both sides. We can thank our beloved President for that. Or from your angle, we can thank the MSM and the looney left for bashing Trump 24/7 from the moment he got elected. I think both of those things are true and are not mutually exclusive, as far as the reason we are where we are right now as a nation.
