The Coronavirus thread

Tibs. We see far too much of your irrational, warped, distorted horse ****.

For ***** sake, don't double post too.

Happy to see the rest of the known world has put you in your rightful place.

Allow me to expand. I'm an asthmatic. When I was 5, docs told my mom I wouldn't live till 6, it was so bad. Found specialists at a Children's National Hospital. Until I was done with 6th grade, I spent easily 100 nights in one of these, a croup tent.

mist+tent.jpg

I remember watching the Yankees and Dodgers in the world series through that plastic. Couldn't see it, had to listen. I contracted pneumonia due to my asthma a half dozen times or more. I've been on antibiotics hundreds of times, literally, in my life. I ******* know PERSONALLY that you don't use antibiotics to fight a virus.

Nowhere did I say you treat COVID-19 with antibiotics you flaming, ignorant fool.

I'm an asthmatic too. On top of that I am supposed to have kidney surgery on the first of April and then again on the 23rd. Currently have a tube coming out of my right kidney so it can drain, been there for about a month now. Needless to say, I need to be careful I don't get anything until after I recover. Hell, at this point I'm worried I won't even get to have my surgery, due to this virus. Which would really suck. I haven't worked in over a month because of this ****, disability benefits only cover so much. Color me concerned but I'm not freaking out like Spike is. lol.

I think someone kidnapped the real Spike, and they have taken over his SN account.

yeah - just ignore everything I said

I want detailed analysis of every article i showed

'Get ready': Italian doctors warn Europe

Professor Maurizio Cecconi, Professor Antonio Pesenti and Professor Giacomo Grasselli, from the University of Milan, revealed how difficult it had been to treat coronavirus patients.

“We are seeing a high percentage of positive cases being admitted to our intensive care units (ICUs), in the range of 10 per cent of all positive patients... We wish to convey a strong message: Get ready!”

Italian hospitals had seen “a very high” number of intensive care patients who were admitted “almost entirely” for severe lung failure caused by the virus and needing ventilators to help them breathe.

Patients with coronavirus experience a severe infection in all of their lungs, requiring major ventilation support. It also reveals the effect of the virus, which affects blood pressure, the heart, kidneys and liver with patients needing sustained treatment...

“The last days are showing a younger population involved as if the elderly and weaker part of the population crashed early and now younger patients, having exhausted their physiological reserves, come to overcrowded, overwhelmed hospitals with little resources left.”

"its just the flu"

The New York subway will be disinfected every 72 hours, officials say.

If there’s one place where being packed in close quarters with crowds of strangers is unavoidable, it is the New York City subway system — well known not just to the locals, but to millions of tourists and anyone who has ever watched a television show or movie set in the city. And that makes it a focus of public worry about contagion.

Officials said on Monday that industrial-grade disinfectants would be used to clean everything from train cars to MetroCard machines every 72 hours. “The safety of our customers and employees is our first priority as we continue to monitor the coronavirus,” said Patrick T. Warren, chief safety officer at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Travel chaos erupts as Italy quarantines north to halt virus

ROME (AP) — Italy announced a sweeping quarantine Sunday for its northern regions, igniting travel chaos as it restricted the movements of 16 million people — more than one quarter of its population — in a bid to halt the relentless march of the new coronavirus across Europe.

Confusion reigned from Milan to Venice as residents and tourists tried to figure out exactly when and how the new rules were coming into effect

Italy has imposed a lockdown on a huge swath of its prosperous north that is home to 16m people as part of draconian measures to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the eurozone’s third-largest economy.

The restrictions on movements in the region of Lombardy and its capital Milan include a ban on entering or exiting certain areas of the country, and the closure of museums, gyms, schools, universities and ski resorts,

U.S. airport screeners, health workers plagued by fear and anger as coronavirus spreads

(Reuters) - As coronavirus cases exploded across the world, federal medical workers tasked with screening incoming passengers at U.S. airports grew alarmed: Many were working without the most effective masks to protect them from getting sick themselves.

Screeners with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention asked their supervisors this week to change official protocols and require stronger masks, according to an internal document reviewed by Reuters.

On Friday evening, they learned their worst fears were realized: Two screeners, both working at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), had tested positive for the virus.

Just that it was interesting that China had us by the balls because the make 95% of our antibiotics and that perhaps they also created the Corona virus .. in this Corona virus thread.

Didn’t China already have us by the balls?

Less now than before Trump was President. Corona Virus might force us to lessen that even more. It might just be another "magic wand" to bring manufacturing jobs back home.

Yeah the fact that our manufacturing got shipped over seas is definitely on previous administrations. And not just Obama's either. Bush, Clinton, all of them share have some responsibility for this.

So again, because everything has an agenda, here is the thing to do...

1. Read all the survivor stories you can... there are well over a hundred out there across all the news services and other countries... some may have an agenda, but all don’t have the same agenda... but they all pretty much have the same story

2. Look at the deaths and even the hospitalizations... pretty much even the Chinese leaks from the epicenter where the government was causing people to hide their symptoms and not informing anyone of what was going on, the deaths are pretty much elderly or people with previous diseases or ailments...

The freak out isn’t coming from the severity of the illness, its coming from the ease of it being transmitted...

Also after years of not really hyper reacting to viral threats, the world governments are definitely treating this one differently, despite tons of actual disease specialist saying its not different from any of the other flu type strains that have come along... same patterns, same symptoms...

And the press has also covered this with the usual panic inducing flare..

So lets look here: swine flue, in its first year of pandemic panic, infected between 60 and 70 million Americans...
in subsequent years most of tge population has had it by now... huge deal when it first came out... ended with a fraction of a percentage death rate... nbd now

Im fine with quarantines for new infectious diseases... i think they slow down transmission until proper treatment avenues are known, but I don’t think that by later this summer you are going to see continued high risk measures... the initial high risk people will be infected, and as healthier people get it, the high hospitalization rates will drop... just follow the pattern of virtually every other respiratory virus ever...

I wasn't real happy last year when my blood pressure medicine that was made in China got recalled. Until then I didn't know it was made in China.

Sadly, it was clear early on that Trump's constant lying and deceiving would come back to haunt him. When a situation arose - such as this - which required the President to be forthright and truthful, his lying ways would expose him for the fraud that he is.

Nobody's 'blaming' Trump for COVID-19, but it is painful to watch him mishandle the situation this badly. It's beyond embarrasing to watch his pressers these past few days, to hear his loyal cabinet members and enablers lying through their teeth to try to appease him, instead of being straight with the American people.

This will not end well for him, but nobody cares about that. Let's hope things stabilize as soon as possible for the country and this thing gets under control. There seems to be nobody left in the WH who can reel in Trump, to save him from himself, so I presume he'll continue lying and stumbling his way through this. Which sucks for all Americans, to have a man in charge who's woefully inadequate in providing guidance, leadership and a steady hand during trying times.

But it is what it is. You get what you vote for, I guess.

What Trump has said or not said has not invected one person more or less.

I said 10 pages ago, once it got to Italy we will see how it spreads in a western democracy to make our decisions. It looks like a very bad virus. I was hoping we could keep it at bay from our country until better weather hit (i.e. April) because all signs point to it being somewhat similar to influenza, which does clearly have seasonal severity. But the epicenter in Washington might have screwed us on that. The lawyer in New York (who was case No. 1 and infected something like 50 people now and growing) isn't helping either.

Sounds like keeping it contained is not really an option. It will spread like influenza spreads, maybe worse.

I do think Trump is correct though. The idea this is going to kill 3% of the people infected is just bullshit. It will be much less than 1% by the time it is all said and done. If it really is 3% then we are all ****** and this will kill 1 million people by summer.

But don't **** around. My mother in law just started chemo for breast cancer and was going to go on a cruise of all things, but we convinced her not to go. I would not go on cruises right now. I would just go to work, do your thing and keep washing your hands.

Anyone at risk (poor lung health or old) should not go taking risks at large gatherings in major cities (95 corridor or west coast). That's just my advice.

Step right up!!!!

Coronavirus vaccine race: volunteers to be infected in the UK

London lab paying people ($4500) to be infected with #Covid_19 and isolated for 2 weeks

It sounds tempting: a payment of £3,500 to spend two weeks relaxing in front of the television, playing video games or catching up on some reading. There is a catch, however — you will be infected with a coronavirus and banned from physical contact with the outside world.

As part of a global experiment, up to 24 people at a time will be paid to be infected with a coronavirus

Go back and watch the video, what Tucker explains. It's quite simple and explanatory. It isn't just about antibiotics. It's a pharmaceutical and medical equipment stranglehold.

President Spike would never have let this happen, its a complete failure of all the federal public health agencies. I wanted internment camps built in January to quarantine all Chinese and Asians coming back from overseas, but noooooo, nobody listened

I wash my hands of this administration

Stop being a typical, "cancel-culture" liberal Tibs and watch it. Refute what he says. Forget the mouth piece for once and come out from under your bed and open your mind and just listen. Then destroy what he says if you want.

If all you got is "oh it's Tucker or Rush or Laura Ingram and I don't listen to that" (we know you don't, you feed from only one well), then **** off.

By they way, condolences to you for your loss of Chris Matthews. Heart breaking, I'm sure. You still got Wolf Blitzer and Jim Acosta though.

Good news?

China has recorded more fully recovered coronavirus patients than people still infected, suggesting it is overcoming the epidemic

  • The number of Chinese patients who have recovered from the coronavirus is greater than the number who are still being treated.
  • The tipping point came in late February, and has held — as of March 6 there have been 53,880 recoveries in China, compared to 23,676 outstanding infections.
  • However, outside of China — including in Iran, Italy, and South Korea — the virus is continuing to pick up speed.

Figures released by the Chinese government in early March showed a new and optimistic trend: the total number of people to have recovered from the coronavirus exceeded the number who were sick.

The tipping point came around the end of February, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, and has continued strongly since as more and more people get better.

As of Friday, there are more than twice as many people who recovered than are still sick.

According to the latest, there has been a total of 80,556 cases — a figure which includes all people confirmed to have ever been sick, including those who died, and those who are well again.

In China as of Friday, 3,044 have died (this includes one death in Taiwan), meaning that the remaining number of people still to be sick is smaller than the number of people to have got better.

To look at China's figures another way, as of Friday there are:

  • 80,556 all-time infections
  • 3,044 deaths
  • 53,880 recoveries
  • 23,676 outstanding infections

There have been some reports of coronavirus patients recovering but then falling sick again, which would complicate the picture painted by the figures above. However, thus far re-infection seems not to be widespread.

Taken as a whole, the data suggests that China, which still has by far the majority of cases worldwide, is over the worst of its crisis.

Mi Feng, a spokesperson for China's National Health Commission, said at a recent briefing: "The rapid rising trend of virus cases in Wuhan has been controlled," according to Reuters.

"Outbreaks in Hubei outside of Wuhan are curbed and provinces outside of Hubei are showing a positive trend," he added.

As of March 6, 18,149 cases had been reported outside of China, with growing hotspots in Iran, Italy and South Korea.

That literally explains everything you need to know about Tim. He takes his cues from Tucker Carlson. Nothing else needs to be said at this point.

This response is the equivalent to an 8 year old putting his fingers in his years and yelling "la, la, la, I can't hear you."

Yeah, I think I nailed it when I labeled you a petulant child.
