Though I kind of hate Don Henley for not sharing his music (there's probably an argument though for both why and why not), that may be one of my favorite songs of all time. Not only always reminds me of a very special woman once in my life, but he really touches on so many different things in the song. I'm just going by memory right now, but:

"The insanity of all this is that the CDC is deliberately providing misinformation about the CoviD death rate of 1.72% (as of today). Using their own formula for flu death rate calculation, the actual CoviD death rate is 0.01%.

When the CDC calculates the death rate for this year's flu, they take the number of deaths and divide it by the number of ESTIMATED flu cases (not the tested); and they get the estimated number of flu cases by multiplying the confirmed/tested number by a factor of 162 (which they determined gives a more accurate rate as most people with the flu don't go to their doctors).

So, if you use the CDCs high number of flu deaths so far this year, 56,000, compared to tested flu cases of 222,522, then you have a death rate of 25.17%, which is way too high. Using their 'estimated' flu cases number of 1,073,976, you get a more realistic flu death rate of 0.16%.

But the CDC does not estimate the number of CoviD cases when determining the death rate, which is absurd since even they say that most folks under 50 who get CoviD will think they have a cold and won't get tested or go to the doctor. So the confirmed US cases of CoviD (to date) is 6,209; deaths are 107; giving an inaccurate death rate of 1.72%. If you apply the CDCs 'estimate' multiplier of 162 to the number of tested CoviD cases to get a more realistic idea of how many actual cases there are, then you have 1,004,492 cases, 107 deaths, which gives a death rate of 0.01%. That is one hundredth of one percent, far less than the flu death rate.

We are being manipulated and driven to panic by a deceitful media and CDC.

Sherri, you always seem to delight a depraved brother & make me smile. I busted out a bottle of single malt Scotch tonight that I've had for a bit, seeing this is the end of days according to our media, so I'm a bit easy & drunk right about now. I'll be paying for it in the morning, but every moment enjoying songs, funny videos, literature, my online friends etc. is so worth it right now.

I may just quit my job and go golfing for a month.
 
So actually that 222,000 number is the six month rolling average of positive tests for the flu... but in essence its what ive been saying all along

I am sick right now with a stomach bug or food poisoning ... no sore throat or cough, no chest tightness... very mild fever, stomach cramps and vomiting ... there is a0.0000% chance im gonna go to the doctors over it... so ill never be tested and will just be an estimated case of whatever I have...

It's still so new that they just do not have accurate data on the mortality and morbidity rates. It's really just a waiting game with this particular virus.

My gut tells me that it is another manipulated event meant to end all of the winning. Yes, it's sad that "boomers" are being hit so hard. But the high risk medical issues that a lot of them have also lead to high flu deaths. It's not shocking that they're vulnerable to this virus.

How Long Will Americans Tolerate Corona-Madness?

Fake news media has successfully infected many with irrational fear.

Hearing Gov. Larry Hogan on my car radio announcing his executive order to close bars, restaurants, gyms, and theaters sounded like the script of a 1950s horror movie. “We will stop the spread of this deadly disease!” dramatically proclaimed Hogan. Litle more than 100 have died in the U.S. and under 9,000 worldwide. According to the CDC, during the 2018-2019 flu season, an estimated 16.5 million people got sick and 34,000 died in the U.S.

When Hogan mentioned plans to restrict church gatherings, a chill went up my spine. In the United States of America, government is mandating that people not attend church. Wow!

CDC data confirms that the martial-law-light mandates steamrolling across America are disproportionate to the threat of the virus. Some governors and most corporations are responding to media-mob pressure to halt life in America. Others see an opportunity to land a death-blow to the Trump administration.

Insidiously ignoring the CDC's no-need-to-panic-data, fake news media created and is gleefully fueling corona-madness. Using their huge bully pulpit, fake news media says anyone who dares to contradict their you're-all-gonna-die narrative will be dragged into the high tech public square, stripped naked, branded an irresponsible idiot with a hot iron and their career will be canceled.

Spread from contact with contaminated surfaces or objects
It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.

Take-aways - You pretty much need infected couch droplets to land in your mouth or nose. It you're coughing, get the **** away from everyone. Like any infectious disease. If you suck your thumb or pick your nose, probably best to stop it for a while. This social distancing for all is overkill. And yes, masks work. .

Theoretically possible to catch it from a surface, but it isn't happening.
 
Positives that will come from this:
1 end of Chinese labor dependance... id sell any wal mart stocks after its over... they are gonna be high as **** but the policies that come a year later are gonna shred their business model lol

2. Better plans for the next terrible virus. Spike went off the rails fearmongering but he wasn’t entirely incorrect... this country got the travel bans and quarantines that we needed for decades, but it exposed huge holes in the sustem in testing and prep

3. People will get a sample of socialism... the 1000 check per person and completely unnecessary bailouts are going to cost us a trillion or two... unsustainable and illogical... plus all the supply shortages weren’t pleasant
 
Went in to Wal-Mart this morning. They are nearly re-stocked. I managed to get about $130 worth of meat, canned veggies, paper plates, water, lunch meat, cheese, eggs, milk, etc. They even had toilet paper, which I didn't need because I bought two big packs at Sam's before this all started. People were talking and interacting like normal. Only came across one ******* hoarding lysol and toilet paper. Seemed everyone else was just doing normal shopping.

Medical statistician who deals with this stuff crunches the cruise ship quarantines like ive been saying and comes up with drastically lower death rates than even I did...

For the vast majority of people.... its just the flu...
 
So when i am saying its just the flu... im not saying business as usual... i am saying this level of panic is unwarranted

When an outbreak like this happens its fine to social distance and have minor quarantines and travel bans... closing the country is an overreaction... doing the math on overlap severe cases, we needed a week or two to set up auxiliary hospital sites.. because we never prepared for the potential level of infection... but italy was the worse place to base numbers off of... their flu numbers are among the lowest in deaths per 100000 but their death rate per flu case is ridiculously high because they apparently are doing something wrong either in reporting or testing or treatment... i cannot imagine that is different here...

We should have looked at south korea and based our responses off of those numbers with amuch higher sample size of tests...

Mark my words, at the end of this youare going to see political ads blaming Republicans and Trump for causing a panic and crashing the economy... Despite it being 99.9% the press’ fault

Its a damn shame he is giving free hand outs beyond the poorest and worst affected though... he almost got me to think about voting for him out of spite, but when I heard he may bail out boeing and the casinos, I realized my policy of not voting for those corrupt parties must continue....

Sat in a briefing this morning for DA Civilians. No unnecessary travel, avoid stores, barber, gym, theatres, pools, spas, lounges, restaurants, high density public spaces. Stay home as much as you can. But bring your *** to work, where you are surrounded by people all day long. I laughed.
