In short the stockpile was depleted a new order was eventually placed it was mired in red tape the company was sold and changed the new owners did not follow through on the orders and in typical government fashion it never got reordered. I am not even blaming Obama but it was on his watch this happened but it could have been any President. It was left to mid level bureaucrats mired in the swamp of red tape and kickbacks and nothing gets done and when it does it cost infinitely more than it should have. The only time in our system things get done quickly is when we have an emergency and the spotlight gets focused on the issue.

At the very least I hope he refuses to pay our national debt back to them and seizes their assets and bank accounts in the U.S. to pay off all the ***** this is costing us.
 
If they want us all to wear masks and it’ll save lives, I’m cool with that. Might be kind of hard to find them though. I found a few in the garage today. I did order surgical type from WalMart this morning and I should have them sometime next week.

Pretty crazy.

I didn’t know the people or don’t remember them. But this stuff is in my own backyard now.

Oh we're very ,very aware and livid. I'm a natural recluse, unless I'm working. I'm going to give that a few more weeks. So far northeast Florida hasn't blown up like south Florida. We're also not doing a **** ton of testing yet either.

I am generally far away from people and they are over the top with sanitation. Overkill x 10.

The aftermath is what bothers me more than this virus.

U can look up every person and age n sex of all positives in all the local counties and towns, lots of women, Walmart shoppers probably

We have had 9 test positive so far in Fwb, one more than yesterday

Walton county just closed their beaches, last stretch to fish on, pompano are running and all the beach access is closed.

Fishing pier closed, all parks are closed, some boat ramps are still open

Nothing to do but drive around and watch people pooping their dogs
 
My GFs nursing home is getting bad. They have 7 resident cases and 2-3 staff members in a 120 bed facility. So far everyone is hanging in there. My home has not had cases yet, but i feel we are pretty prepared. We got a pretty large shipment of the N95 duckbill masks (from harrisburg, but they are expired) we have disposable lab coats and regular gowns. We have a few N95 respirators and 3 plastic 3M half respirators. We are mask on at all times now and still reusing the surgical masks until they are soiled or damaged. We have 2 rooms isolated for new admits that will get treated as they have COVID for 14 days. People who go out for dialysis will be isolated and treated as positive, and their current roomates will be treated as positive for 14 days. There is not much else we can do at this point except hope for the best.

I donated some of the clorox wipes I don’t use to a friends elderly parents...

The issue is that the whole world is chasing the same products and everyone outsourced those manufacturing processes to china to save some pennies

And that the press panicked people into thinking that this is going to last over a year... so they overhoarded and left critical shortages

Thats the same math that shows why this isn’t as bad as its hyped to be

Virologist are saying that as few as 2% of cases may show symptoms based on viral spread patterns and exposures... so basically the severe cases we know of are a minuscule fraction Of the total cases...
The idea that this is exponentially horrendous is sunk by the reality that the severe cases are exposing people genetically subject to cytokine storm syndrome... its fairly rare but so many cases are exposing the lot of them.

Again after breaking down this after the quarantines virologist and medical mathematicians have been screaming the death rate potentially can be lower than the flu.. or just a tad higher


We are quarantining as if 5 percent of the population was going to die..

Test for antibodies and release all of us who have it..

If its air transmittable and stays active as long like they say the R is ten times what they claim..

The math just doesn’t work... you are contagious for several days before showing symptoms and for over a week after...

Millions have it.. a couple hundred thousand show symptoms and a small fraction of that are severe...

China covered it up for months... its everywhere... its just when they start testing tgey find it more and more...

Then explain New York and Italy and Spain. Sorry it is worse than the flu. You don’t need refrigeration trucks for dead bodies from the flu.

I often wondered how vaccine trials work. Do they inject you, then when they figure the vaccine has taken effect, send you into a room full of sick people and have them cough on you? If you don’t get sick, it’s good? I mean obviously they use control groups and stuff like that and my question is simplistic, but I just wonder how they decide it works.

Lots of different dose testing, especially to make sure it doesn't make you hypersensitive to the virus so the next time you are exposed your body goes into hyperdrive with its immune response and kills you all by itself

The Pittsburgh lab has done all its testing on mice
