Nope, Shula heard beaches were open because Trump, went for a quick stroll on the strand, a Trump supporting COVID-denier licked Shula's face, gave him the Chinese, uhhh, American flu and within 15 minutes, Shula was dead.
True story, with very, very minor edits.
you forgot that Shula also staggered around, gasping for air and impaled himself on a "BEACHES CLOSED DUE TO CORONA VIRUS" sign... which obviously if that sign wasn't there, he'd have not impaled himself, and if the government bureaucracy hadnt insisted that beaches be closed, with that order coming from the top, and the top being delegated to by the Feds, of whom OrangeManBad is sole voice, then Shula would still be alive today. Thus, Rona got Shula, with an assist from Trump. Of course now Trump will swoop in, buy Shula's residence, turn it into a skyscraper and charge $1972 per night (perfect rate for a perfect season) and profit off the man's death.

The other thing I'm seeing is that almost 60% of Covid-19 deaths in many states are nursing home/critical care situations. As well as in many other countries.
I also saw a chart that had the daily death rate go down for 5 days straight just yesterday I think, no coverage on that though.

I've been trying to quantify this data. If anyone has it in a neat tidy format, much appreciated.
When you look at the age-based deaths from COVID, it "appears" 80-85% are retirement age and above. 65 and beyond.
Now think about that. The working population, which is at super astronomical low risk is out of work to protect the portion of the population that isn't working.
I am not saying their lives aren't worth it...before someone accuses me of that. But we have shuttered the world to protect the most vulnerable among us and kept the strong and resistant under lock and key.
Turns out that those under age 18 don't even suffer symptoms for the most part, don't need hospitalization but a small fraction of the time, and transmit the disease to their older relatives only infrequently.

Can’t give numbers obviously but yeah we are getting crushed in nursing homes. Funny fact, hospitals with all their ppe and rooms are pushing positive patients back to us. We say no. But Gov like Como enacting laws forcing us to take. Hmmm
Putting those poor people in the homes at such high risk. While we younger ones shelter at home. It makes no sense unless you think of all the SS, Medicare, etc saved.
It’s not that. Most think nursing homes are this horrible place. Sure you don’t want your love one to go, but can you care for a family member with dementia or some other brain related illness? What about those requiring continual care and watch because of fall risk or assistance with medications. Etc. most family’s now a days can’t properly care for their own kids bc no one is ever home because of two full time jobs. It’s not easy or fun.

The retirement community out near the beaches I worked at for 4 years was the ****. It was as nice of a place as you could get with everything you'd ever want. It was pricey, but in my opinion worth it as everything was covered. You also had the option of living in one of the several hundred brick homes that surrounded what I would call a 7 story luxury hotel in the middle on the edge of a lake. You can dine at a full service restaurant &bar as well .

Calvin Munerlyn worked hard to provide for his family as a security guard at Family Dollar in Flint.
His job was to keep customers safe.
Munerlyn, a father of nine, was gunned down after turning a customer away for trying to enter the store without a mask, according to authorities.
On Monday, Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton charged three suspects in the murder — 45-year-old Sharmel Teague, 44-year-old Larry Edward Teague Jr., and 23-year-old Ramonyea Bishop.
"Decisions like staying home when we can, wearing a mask when going to the store and staying a safe distance from those around us, these should not be political arguments," Leyton said. "They don't necessitate acts of defiance and we simply cannot devolve into an us-versus-them mentality.
We really need to make a commitment as a community ... to doing the things necessary to allow us to stay healthy and turn the page on this crisis altogether. If not for ourselves, we should do this for Calvin Munerlyn, who has lost his life needlessly and senselessly."
Officials said Sharmel Teague and her daughter went to the Family Dollar on East 5th Avenue about 1:40 p.m. on Friday. Security footage showed Munerlyn and Teague got into a verbal altercation after he told the woman that her daughter needed a face mask to enter the store. Teague began to yell and spit at Munerlyn, who asked her to leave the store and instructed a cashier not to serve her.
Under Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's executive order, everyone must wear a mask in all enclosed public spaces to halt the spread of COVID-19. If customers refuse to comply, businesses can turn them away.
The security footage shows the two driving off in a red GMC Envoy.
The same vehicle returned about 20 minutes later at 2:15 p.m. Two suspects, Larry Teague, Sharmel Teague's husband, and Ramonyea Bishop, her son, entered the store. Larry Teague confronted the security guard about disrespecting his wife and Bishop fatally shot him in the back of the head, Leyton said. The two men then left the store.
Munerlyn was transported to Hurley Medical Center, where he later was pronounced dead.
Whitmer sent her condolences to the Munerlyn family during her Monday news conference.
“It is incredible the people that continue to show up to work to protect everyone else,” Whitmer said. “It’s incredibly sad that in this crisis, this life was lost.”
Munerlyn, also known as "Duper," leaves behind nine children and his wife, Leyton said. A GoFundMe page for Munerlyn, was created two days ago and has already raised more than $30,000.
"Duper was a hardworking, father and husband who lost his life while doing his job securing the place of business and asking all customers to wear a mask for our own safety as well as others," reads a statement on the page.
A candlelight vigil in Flint was held in his honor, drawing about 150 people, reports MLive.

Virginia to begin double-counting multiple positive coronavirus cases
The new policy may serve to sharply drive up case numbers, which may in turn significantly delay the re-opening of the state.
Virginia this week will begin counting multiple positive coronavirus tests in the same patient as new individual cases of the disease, a policy decision likely to significantly drive up reported case numbers in a state that has been relatively spared the worst of the pandemic so far.
The state government announced on Saturday a policy change to its coronavirus data metrics. Health officials will begin reporting "the number of unique people tested per day rather than the number of unique people who have been tested at any point during the response," the new policy states.
"We know individual people, especially healthcare workers and those in high-risk settings, may be tested more than once over time. This new method of providing test data also allows us to provide the number of tests per day," the policy continues, adding: "We believe these data to be a better representation of SARS-CoV-2 testing in Virginia, and a better guide to the public and policy-makers as they assess availability."
At a press conference on Friday, State Health Commissioner Norman Oliver gave an example of a single patient being tested four times for COVID-19. "What we’re doing now is, we’re counting all four tests," Oliver said. "That’s the difference."
What was unclear from the new policy is whether or not each positive test result would be counted as a new case of coronavirus altogether rather than merely a new test. The Virginia Department of Health's COVID-19 dashboard displays the total number of cases in the state, the total number of tests performed, and the total number of "unique people tested" by state officials.
Reached via email on Monday morning, Joe Macenka, a spokesman for Virginia's COVID-19 Joint Information Command, confirmed that each positive case of the disease would be counted as a new case altogether. "If a person is tested on different days, those tests are counted as separate," he said.
Pressed to clarify the policy, Macenka said that repeat positive cases "are counted as separate cases only if the tests occur on different days. If [a Virginia resident] tested Monday and Tuesday and both are positive, that's two positives."

But the families who really care about their loved ones visit, check up and advocate for them. This ******* pandemic response cut off their lifelines. People dying alone. Its so sad it makes my head spin with the evilness of it.
It seems like an insidious purpose with the governments moving sick from hospitals to nursing homes.

DHS report: China hid virus’ severity to hoard supplies

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. officials believe China covered up the extent of the coronavirus outbreak — and how contagious the disease is — to stock up on medical supplies needed to respond to it, intelligence documents show.
Chinese leaders “intentionally concealed the severity” of the pandemic from the world in early January, according to a four-page Department of Homeland Security intelligence report dated May 1 and obtained by The Associated Press. The revelation comes as the Trump administration has intensified its criticism of China, with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo saying Sunday that that country was responsible for the spread of disease and must be held accountable.
The sharper rhetoric coincides with administration critics saying the government’s response to the virus was slow and inadequate. President Donald Trump’s political opponents have accused him of lashing out at China, a geopolitical foe but critical U.S. trade partner, in an attempt to deflect criticism at home.
Not classified but marked “for official use only,” the DHS analysis states that, while downplaying the severity of the coronavirus, China increased imports and decreased exports of medical supplies. It attempted to cover up doing so by “denying there were export restrictions and obfuscating and delaying provision of its trade data,” the analysis states.
The report also says China held off informing the World Health Organization that the coronavirus “was a contagion” for much of January so it could order medical supplies from abroad — and that its imports of face masks and surgical gowns and gloves increased sharply.
Those conclusions are based on the 95% probability that China’s changes in imports and export behavior were not within normal range, according to the report.
China informed the WHO of the outbreak on Dec. 31. It contacted the U.S. Centers for Disease Control on Jan. 3 and publicly identified the pathogen as a novel coronavirus on Jan. 8.
Chinese officials muffled doctors who warned about the virus early on and repeatedly downplayed the threat of the outbreak. However, many of the Chinese government’s missteps appear to have been due to bureaucratic hurdles, tight controls on information and officials hesitant to report bad news. There is no public evidence to suggest it was an intentional plot to buy up the world’s medical supplies.
In a tweet on Sunday, the president appeared to blame U.S. intelligence officials for not making clearer sooner just how dangerous a potential coronavirus outbreak could be. Trump has been defensive over whether he failed to act after receiving early warnings from intelligence officials and others about the coronavirus and its potential impact.
“Intelligence has just reported to me that I was correct, and that they did NOT bring up the CoronaVirus subject matter until late into January, just prior to my banning China from the U.S.,” Trump wrote without citing specifics. “Also, they only spoke of the Virus in a very non-threatening, or matter of fact, manner.”
Trump had previously speculated that China may have unleashed the coronavirus due to some kind of horrible “mistake.” His intelligence agencies say they are still examining a notion put forward by the president and aides that the pandemic may have resulted from an accident at a Chinese lab.
Speaking Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Pompeo said he had no reason to believe that the virus was deliberately spread. But he added, “Remember, China has a history of infecting the world, and they have a history of running substandard laboratories.”
“These are not the first times that we’ve had a world exposed to viruses as a result of failures in a Chinese lab,” Pompeo said. “And so, while the intelligence community continues to do its work, they should continue to do that, and verify so that we are certain, I can tell you that there is a significant amount of evidence that this came from that laboratory in Wuhan.”
The secretary of state appeared to be referring to previous outbreaks of respiratory viruses, like SARS, which started in China. Pompeo repeated the same assertion hours later, via a tweet Sunday afternoon.
On Monday, China’s official Global Times newspaper said Pompeo was making “groundless accusations” against Beijing by suggesting the coronavirus was released from a Chinese laboratory.
The populist tabloid published by the ruling Communist Party mouthpiece People’s Daily said the claims were a politically-motivated attempt to preserve Donald Trump’s presidency and divert attention from the U.S. administration’s own failures in dealing with the outbreak.
“As the U.S. presidential election campaigns are underway, the Trump administration has implemented a strategy designed to divert attention from the incompetence it has displayed in fighting the pandemic,” the paper said in an editorial.
The paper has made the U.S. top diplomat a main target of its attacks, in recent weeks describing him as “despicable” and of having “evil intentions” by blaming China for having caused the pandemic.
While the virus is believed to have originated in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, most scientists say it was most likely transmitted from bats to humans via an intermediary animal such as the armadillo-like pangolin. That has placed the focus on a wet market in the city where wildlife was sold for food.
The theories about a possible human release have centered on the Wuhan Institute of Virology which undertook research into the transmission of pathogens from animals to people.
Beijing has repeatedly pushed back on U.S. accusations that the outbreak was China’s fault, pointing to many missteps made by American officials in their own fight against the outbreak. China’s public announcement on Jan. 20 that the virus was transmissible from person to person left the U.S. nearly two months to prepare for the pandemic, during which the U.S. government failed to bolster medical supplies and deployed flawed testing kits.

Pitt researcher studying coronavirus killed in suspected murder-suicide in Ross Township
Bing Liu "was on the verge of making very significant findings" in a SARS-CoV-2 research project at the University of Pittsburgh, his department said.
ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A man who police said was found shot dead at his Ross Township home was a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was working on a coronavirus research project.
Police said they believe that Bing Liu, 37, was shot inside his Elm Court townhome by a man who then went outside to his car and shot himself. Liu's death is believed to be a homicide, police said.
The second man was found dead inside the vehicle on Charlemagne Circle, police said. He has not yet been identified.
Liu was a researcher with the department of computational and systems biology in the Pitt School of Medicine, the department said Monday.

Liu was described as an outstanding researcher and mentor, with expertise in computational modeling and analysis of biological systems dynamics.
"His loss will be felt throughout the entire scientific community," the university said.
Police said Liu and the man who shot him knew each other. Authorities have not discussed a possible motive for the shooting, which remained under investigation Monday.

A man who police said was found shot dead at his Ross Township home was a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was working on a coronavirus research project.
Police said they believe that Bing Liu, 37, was shot inside his Elm Court townhome by a man who then went outside to his car and shot himself. Liu's death is believed to be a homicide, police said.
The second man was found dead inside the vehicle on Charlemagne Circle, police said. He has not yet been identified.
Liu was a researcher with the department of computational and systems biology in the Pitt School of Medicine, the department said Monday.

A retirement community is not the same thing as a nursing home.
I work(ed) downsizing and moving seniors into some of these upscale communities. Yes, the independent living and even assisted living is very nice. But when you get stepped up to skilled nursing it is a different story. Expensive, filled to capacity and understaffed.
