Funny you insult others for their lack of reading comprehension, when it's right there, in front of your nose. Here, I'll bold it for you, maybe that will help.

Mexico has cooperated with Trump by agreeing to accept Central American returnees in addition to its own citizens. The measures are controversial because they have essentially shut the door on the ability of asylum seekers to seek safe refuge in the United States, while also waving off anti-trafficking laws preventing the rapid deportation of underage migrants who arrive without a parent.

To see the dramatic rise in overall US numbers relative to the EU and other countries is sad and disappointing. In states like CA and Arizona, along with the southern states, this thing has been heading in the opposite direction as it should be. Really sad to see, across the board. Very disappointing, regardless of party politcs and whether it's a blue or red state. I hope the tide will turn soon, and the numbers start coming down again.

Yeah, I'm real ******* happy about it. My businesses and personal life has been impacted tremendously over the past six months, and that's on the other side of the Atlantic. My son is in Houston, along with my brother, which has turned into a real hot spot of late. Yeah, I'm doing cartwheels of joy over this pandemic.

What an ignorant thing to say. Par course, for this board.

Jesus, Supe, why bother posting if you're not following the threads on here? I never said allowing illegal immigrants in is a good thing. You just made that up out of thin air. I was arguing with Vader, who claims the rise in cases is due mostly to illegal aliens. I was arguing that the cause for the rise in so many states has been for other reasons, ie not wearing masks, not abiding by mitigation policies, people hanging out in large groups, et al. You briskly walked into the middle of that convo, and have now completely changed the subject.

No problemo, hombre.

Just found out that school here in KS won’t be opening until after Labor Day. I’m not happy about it-don’t know if I will get a paycheck for August and part of September or not. There’s supposed to be a district wide ZOOM meeting on Monday to discuss everything, but I will be out of town. I’m so frustrated right now.

Lyn, we just had our Zoom meeting yesterday concerning the start of school. As of now, all staff are still reporting on the original date of Aug. 20th but the kids aren't starting until Aug. 31st. We are still evaluating the plans of either full time attendance, 1/2 student attendance two days a week + online, or full time online.
 
I have been working since this whole thing began,going to stores as much as I need stuff in the hardest hit places of Florida. I only where masks where it says must’ve worn inside.
Worked at a Ferrari dealership last Friday where some service techs tested positive.
They administered test to us Monday
I am negative for the China Hong Kong Fooey!

So.......given that we all “agree” that masks “prevent” all spread of disease at “Walmart”, one would conclude that wearing said device for education purposes would also yield said prevention.

But no. Masks do not work in schools, unless masks don’t work? I’m confused

Its hard enough to get adults to wear masks properly do you really think a bunch of kids will wear them right or keep them on, or stop playing with them?

I have an 8yr old and am on the fence about the school thing. There is no doubt kids need to be in actual school. The online learning is horseshit and no way kids are getting proper education. On the flip side in the school you have fans, ERV units, outside air if windows are open, etc etc circulating the virus around. Even if kids recover you have to look at the school workers. Some teachers, cafeteria workers, principals, etc etc are older are more susceptible to have more severe symptoms. Who is going to teach the kids if all the teachers are sick? There is no good solution now. Originally the whole country just should have basically fully shut down for 2 weeks instead of half-assing it. Now we are stuck in what may be a never ending wave.

Schools are going to mandate masks for all staff members this year. Ours already has. I don't think they can mandate that kids wear them but at our school, they are going to "strongly recommend" that all the kids wear them. Of course as jitter says it is very difficult to impossible to get elementary aged kids to wear masks and most schools won't even try at that level. We are a high school, so they are banking on most kids wearing them at the middle and high school level but not the little ones.

Give me a ******* break. 85 plus percent of the ***** I see have masks on

1. Backwards
2. Upside down
3 not up to their nose.

But again, near 100% recovery. Nah. Education is < Walmart.

I just saw that he replaced his campaign manager, which likely means rumors of a cure have tested positive for COVID.

You just made my point adults will not wear them properly so how do you expect kids to? Even if a teacher recovers they are not going to be allowed to teach with symptoms. You dont send teachers or kids to school with the flu so they will definitely not do it w/ corona. At my daughter's school if she has a fever she is not allowed back till it is clear for 24 hours. This is pre-covid. At Walmart you dont have 30 people sitting close together for hours at a time either. Your "education < Walmart" comment is ignorant
