The Coronavirus thread

So 385,000 by 1/31/21 instead of 400,000 31 days earlier? That is also from over three weeks ago.

THis is what you said Flog:
Daily Deaths are up 9% over the past two weeks

The daily deaths and the mortality rate have been dropping since mid August. Never mind that the range of deaths is from 293K to 560K. In plain words, they have no ******* clue what the end results will be. The same reason their Second wave curve keeps getting pushed back by MONTHS at a time. 3 months ago they showed the huge spike in cases starting in September and peaking by the end of the year, now it is not showing a peak until February. Nobody has any clue what the end game will be and it is nothing more than a scare tactic at this point.

Do your own damn research Flog. Since you claim to know more than anyone here, that should be pretty easy for you.

Huh? I’m not the one claiming the experts are wrong. Im aware of the recent trends and concern about the fall and winter months. Again, if the projections are so wrong, how many dead by EOY? If you can’t determine your own estimate, why do you think they’re wrong? We’ll revisit in two months.

An increase in cases did start in September. They were down around 35,000/day, now they’re approaching 60,000/day. Nobody has a clue, but you’re confident the ones predicting a huge surge are wrong?

LOL, you are concerned about deaths by the EOY because it is not measurable at this time, it's like ask Miss Cleo the outcome. The mortality rate is dropping and has been for quite a while. 99.9% of people infected will not die from Covid. Many of the people at risk of dying from Covid are the same people that would be at risk of death if they came down with any other respiratory infection. The fact is that it is NOWHERE near as lethal as the left wants people to believe for their own political gain. So, just like Joe, you ***** to ***** and have no clue how to "shut down the virus"

I didn't say an "increase" there Sherlock, I said a huge spike in cases. Do you need someone to explain the difference to you. The original projections showed 1500 a day starting in mid September and almost 3600 by mid October. They showed a peak in December of almost 5500 deaths per day. Now that curve keeps getting pushed further and further back...but much like the Pirates winning a World Series, "it could happen".

You know Flog, you may have convinced me. Or even this may be more like it:

Thats very odd because Biden said the 220 million deaths too at one point...

Yep, you heard Dementia Joe, we are learning to DIE from this virus...all .02%. Utter pandemonium I tell you!

Answer the question. If the projection (which was not a rate, rather the number of deaths) is nonsense, what’s a more accurate one?

Jitter, honestly curious what you think is so odd about it? Do you think it's possible that they're running on a campaign of fear and will say whatever they want because the media won't touch them on it?

Or are they both just morons? I mean, let's think about this, there can't be too much more to it can there? If you think there is, I'm all ears.

Answer the question.

You've got a lot of nerve, drive-by. You've answered about as many questions asked of you as you have donated dollars to this website.

But since you went there, if there has been an average of between 600-700 deaths per day trending for the last several weeks, and there are 69 days left in the year, that's approximately 45,000 (using 650 per day). Anything else?

Answer the question. If the projection (which was not a rate, rather the number of deaths) is nonsense, what’s a more accurate one?

There is no answer to the question, because it it unknown, it will be what it is. The projection is based off of a rate, how else do you think they make their projections, a crystal ball? They project the rate of infections and then the mortality rate of those infected. Add on a margin of error and that is why there is a range. If the number is 400k, then it is 400k. If it is 300k then so be it. There are 2.8 million deaths in the US annually, does it matter how you record it or what causes it? Are you equally concerned about the 1.2 million people that will de from heart disease or cancer annually? Should we shut down the world and have a countdown clock for those people as well? What about people that die from influenza next year, should we have a tracker on the news every night of everyone that got the flu? Right now, around .2% of the population have had Covid, of that around .2% have perished. That means that the odds of you dying from Covid is around .06%. Of that, 85% of all fatalities are senior citizens over the age of 60 and those with pre-existing conditions Go on with your life, protect the elderly and those with co-morbidity risks, and whatever happens, happens. You can die tomorrow in a car accident, why go thru life scared to death of a "Dark Winter" as Lord Dementia told us with his crystal ball and melodramatic self.

And since Flog loves his numbers, here's a number:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Did you know that out of the 43 nations in the G20, New York STATE alone has more deaths than ALL but 8 nations. i.e., More deaths than 35 of the 43 G20 *countries*.</p>— Nick Flor-ProfessorF (@ProfessorF) <a href="https://twitter.com/ProfessorF/status/1319724668723474432?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 23, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Maybe if the criminally derelict governor of that state and several other states didn't send Covid-19 infected patients to nursing homes as a death sentence to everyone, we wouldn't have nearly the "numbers" we have? And that moron last night was touting New York as a responsible example of handling Covid-19.

So 268,000 total deaths by 12/31/20. I strongly suspect this will prove your willful ignorance and a lot sooner than 12/31/20.

Good question. Biden flubs stuff all the time, but kamala is usually well spoken. Wouldn't shock me if it was on purpose, but leaning toward both are morons

You definitely have me thinking now because I wouldn't put anything past these ghouls, but I'm leaning towards one of the two I mentioned. You may be right that they're just both morons. I mean, she's virtually been a ghost since being announced as VP. Has she even taken any formal questions from the media?

Way to move the goalposts there, freeloader. Biden said an additional 200,000 were going to die by the end of the year, and now you just tack a number on to the current total.

You're such a fraud it's laughable at this point.

Heart disease and cancer aren’t contagious. I don’t smoke, eat reasonably healthy and exercise to AVOID those diseases.
.2 x .2 = .04
My concern isn’t about me personally, it’s about the pandemic’s impact on our society and economy.
Yes, I could die in a car accident. That’s why I wear a seatbelt, and drive a quality car that has airbags. To AVOID that.

I still question the death totals. Didn't the CDC say a few weeks back that only 9k or so could be said that Covid was the cause of death. The rest died of other causes, with Covid being a contributing factor.Maybe most of those people were on their way to dying anyway.

Huh? Nothing to do with Biden. 223,000 have died to date. YOU project another 45,000 by EOY. 223,000 + 45,000 = 268,000. What’s the problem?

Yes, but the media didn't camp out on that topic, so it's not true anymore.

Are you suffering short-term memory loss? Two pages ago:

So 385,000 by 1/31/21 instead of 400,000 31 days earlier? That is also from over three weeks ago.

Like I said, way to move those goalposts.

Im not moving anything. You’re walking back your 650 deaths/day for 69 days = 45,000 deaths. Add that to 223,000 = 268,000. Again, what’s the problem? You hear the US set a record for Covid cases today or something?

Okay, yeah, 268,000. You said that after I mentioned the numbers based on recent/current metrics. Again, this is what you first farted out:

So 385,000 by 1/31/21 instead of 400,000 31 days earlier? That is also from over three weeks ago.

That's quite a different number, is it not?
