YES! The experts are saying deaths in the six figures by EOY. You mocked that. You say 45,000.
223,000 is already in six figures, genius
you're flip-flopping on your statements, and being extremely disingenuous in doing so.
per this:
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
the US is "near the bottom" of the number of deaths. in fact, we have MORE deaths than any other country in the entire world. Hurray, Flog! you made a valid point.
However, what you're not seeing is we have the third highest population of any country, are 19th in Tests per million, rank SECOND in total tests (beaten out by China of all countries), deaths per million is 10th at 691 per million, we have 26k cases per million to rank 11th, with 16k of those being serious/critical, first in active cases at 2.8 million, rank second to only India in Total Recovered cases (India also has the largest population, yet have just 1.4 million more recovered).
Bleaker news - we have 229,145 total deaths from Rona as of 10/23 at 6pm. This is the 297th day of the year. That's 771 people dying per day on average.
Let's dig into that, shall we?
the state with the highest death total is New York. We've been through this time and time again, but here we are ...
To date, NY has 527k Cases of Rona and 413,757 Recovered. 33,546 deaths.
The County in NY with the most deaths is Kings with 7,381. Second is Queens, with 7,290.
Kings encompasses Brooklyn. Per ny.gov:
Brooklyn has had the same boundaries as Kings County, which is the most populous county in New York and the second-most densely populated county in the United States.
from the looks of it on the map provided, Kings County is a tiny little speck.
Queens County is right next to Kings County, naturally.
The populations, you might ask? Kings has 1,631,000 and Queens is 1,442,000. So, roughly the same population. Yet these two counties account for 14,500 total deaths thus far, which is nearly half of the entire state. Those two counties account for a fairly high percentage of the deaths nationwide, as well.
You still with me? I know facts aren't your strong point, but this gets deeper. Grab a cup of coffee.
The Bronx County has had 4,985 total deaths. Manhattan County has had 3,192 deaths. Nassau has had 2,208. Sorry, Nassau County. Suffolk County has had 2,019 total deaths.
Let's now add those total deaths up:
Kings - 7,381
Queens - 7,290
Bronx - 4,985
Manhattan - 3,192
Nassau - 2,208
Suffolk - 2,019
total - 27,075
Nearly 1/10 of the entire nation's reported deaths. All those were on a goddamned island.
Hopefully you can see that while this IS a contagious disease, it has been pretty limited on where it has been. Primarily in six counties in New York.
The next highest death total in the country is Texas, with 17,949. Harris County (Houston) has 2,765. Dallas County (Dallas) has 1,214.
Bexar (San Antonio) has 1,390. Adding up all those is 5,369 deaths. Still less than either Kings or Queens county in New York
Let's add to our running total from above:
Harris County - 2,765
Dallas County - 1,214
Bexar County - 1,390
NY Six - 27,075
Total - 32,444
The third highest death rate is California. The county with the largest number of total deaths is Los Angeles, with 6,956.
That brings our running total to 39,400.
Fourth in the death count is New Jersey. Isnt that really ******* close to New York? Huh. Odd, aint it? Anyway, the top two counties in New Jersey are Bergen (2,057) and Essex (2,139).
Let's add that to our running total, shall we?
39400 + 2057 + 2139
43,596 is our new total
Which means that there are
185,598 total deaths throughout the rest of the country from the Rona.
Populations
Kings 1,631,095
Queens 1,442,863
Bronx 945,807
Manhattan 1,339,552
Nassau 995,123
Suffolk 1,008,543
Harris 1,552,525
Dallas 902,113
Bexar 539,730
Los Angeles 2,936,763
(Bergen and Essex populations not available)
total population of those counties is 13,294,114
.0029 have died from the Rona in those counties
Because of those counties causing such a fear, we have effectively shut down the country, killed our economy and crippled the American Dream.
There's no reason why this country should be shut down based on the deaths from 14 ******* counties in the country. There are 3,141 counties in this country. Due to the deaths in those counties, we're now all suggested/mandated to wear masks, social distance, etc.
Do you really think its appropriate for the entire country to be held hostage based on those counties? I'm sure you do.
