The Coronavirus thread

You have championed states without mask mandates and comparatively low Covid cases. You acknowledge those states still have counties and businesses with mandates. So what was your point?

Simple Floggy, states without mandatory, state wide lockdowns have fared equal to or better than those that have them.

Are you saying the concept escapes you that when a state removes a "mandatory" mask mandate, that local jurisdictions can't have different rules?

As mentioned, my state of MD opened up back in October. My county chose not to. The majority of the state went back to life. Just like MS and FL and TX and SD and ND etc.

Germ theory predates both pandemics. You gloss over the fact that they did resort to restrictions and mask wearing. Christ Tim, I’ve been trying to educate you for 13 months. Go back and read some of your posts from a year ago. You mocked the idea of 100-200k deaths and here we are approaching 600k. It’s not at all fools candy. Those who forget history are destined to repeat it.

LMAO, stay on point Floggy. Did the United States lock down, force mandatory mask mandates, shutter travel and businesses, have businesses send people home for 13 months. Simple question.

Answer: Nope

Comparing some people wearing masks in 1918 to what we've gone through for 13 months is akin to comparing a pencil to dump truck.

California went from worst to first after their “lockdown”, but you don’t hear that in the Breitbart bubble, do you?
If you're talking about cases, you're once again picking an outlier.

First, California is not first in cases. MS (no lockdowns), Alabama, Arkansas are still suffering fewer cases than they are.

Know what states are still leading the pack? Those lockdown states like....
#1 Michigan
#2 New Jersey
#3 Rhode Island
#4 New York

Another interesting read. In the spirit of "Just follow the Science." That's all we've been told, is to follow the science. And for 13 months, the networks, the experts, the doctors, the WHO...everyone...has said COVID is spread asymptomatically. People have COVID, don't have symptoms, and spread it to others. We have been told this over and over and over and over and over and over....so it must be true.

Yet....they still can't come up with any data AT ALL to prove this is true.

It's all still just theory.

But follow the science peoples. Be good sheeple.

Of course, the data will only ever be anecdotal. Think about that. Or don’t and just be indignant.

Until we know, how about the "Scientists" stop telling us it is "Scientific fact" when they have nothing but "theory" on the idea of asymptomatic transmission?

Given all of the fear of children being super spreaders and spreading COVID to teachers, and given all of the studies that have been done since showing it just doesn't happen...why do they keep telling us this is fact?

I'm fine with them saying they "think" this may be happening.

Clearly you see the point.

I’m fully vaccinated and I still wear a mask most places, even in places that don’t require it. If a business requires it I wear it. I’m so used to wearing one, it seems weird not to sometimes.
The governor of AZ lifted the mandates a few weeks ago, all to the angst of the liberal mayors in Phoenix and Tucson. Because this issue is so partisan, I think the truth lays somewhere in the middle. I honestly think increased awareness of hygiene has been more effective than an ill fitting, dirty piece of cloth. If a business asks me to wear a mask, I will as it's no big deal, but if they don't ask, I'm done wearing one.

Yeah well the "Vaccine" doesn't confer any immunity. It does however introduce mRNA into your body with unknown long term effects.
That's great, but when your wife is suffering from another disease and takes medication that has her immuno-compromised, you don't get the luxury of being cavalier about it. My brother's wife died last year from breast cancer. I have watched him suffer for over a year now. I couldn't imagine losing my wife, and the toll it would take on me if I dragged a virus home and it killed her. So I am doing everything I can, because she matters more to me than worrying about what some shot might do to me later. I don't care what happens to me if it keeps her from getting sick. Call me a ***** or a boot licker or whatever. My life is meaningless without her in it, so I'm willing to take that chance.

Well, I wash my hands 1,000 times a day, and do what I can. I think the mask thing is stupid, but I have to take care of mama. I don't want to wear one, but I kinda have to until this blows over.

You miss the point. The vax does nothing to stop you GETTING OR TRANSMITTING the virus. It just lessens the symptoms. But the vax may also make you more susceptible to the new variants of the Wuhan Virus.

Tim it seems you need a gentle reminder that you can - really - hold two ideas in your mind at the same time:

- covid vaccines are mostly effective and will take us out of this pandemic.

- until we're out of it, acting w/abundance of caution (masks etc) makes sense.

Tibor, it seems you need a reminder that we can - really - hold multiple ideas to which we subscribe.

COVID vaccines that Trump created are leading us out of this pandemic. God bless the man.

Masking has proven not to work. The data is reinforcing this. Continued masking in the face of the overwhelming data that is coming forth continues to appear to be a burden we don't need our people to continue to endure.

I hear that.....Shooting California Libtards who move to Florida should also be a form of self defense.

Reading this thread, there should be zero doubt in anyone's mind why the pandemic spun out of control, has been this prolonged and caused so many deaths.

They should archive this thread and mount it on the wall in the Smithsonian under the title: Darwinism At Its Absolute Finest.

The concept that obviously escapes you is that perhaps the local jurisdictions with mask mandates deserve credit for Texas’ comparatively low Covid rate.

The Texas panhandle is on fire with new Covid cases.

Some people also got arrested for not wearing masks in 1918.

Kudos for being a responsible, upstanding citizen. Hopefully others can follow your lead. (y) 🇺🇸
so when are you getting that vaccine, or are you going to continue borrowing JMM's tinfoil hat since you don't trust the Hungarian gubmint?

That's not necessarily true. However, if you read the CDC's website, it is chock full of conflicting information. Like this for example:

Studies show that COVID-19 vaccines are effective at keeping you from getting COVID-19

Getting a COVID-19 vaccine will also help keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19.

I can't imagine why anyone would be confused or not trust the information coming from our own government. After reading that page, I can't be certain exactly what the vaccine does or doesn't do.

Some people also got arrested for not wearing masks in 1918.
get arrested for not wearing a mask, get let out of jail due to covid

nice turnstile money maker your beloved pols have created

I can assure you, I'm doing all of it for purely selfish reasons.

They are calling it “Fact” or forgone conclusion? With over 30 million cases, do you really think that every case, or even most, were spread by selfish ******** who were symptomatic and didn’t concern themselves with spreading it to others?

no, just the ones who travel the country and wind up in Key West

i mean, **** ... you've been blowing the horn for mask mandating, staying home, lockdowns that never end and berating the red states that operated without a mandate.

yet you travel to Key ******* West.

how goddamned hypocritical can you possibly be?

Fully vaccinated for over a month, complied with mask mandates regardless.
