Day 3 Options

Good point about the 17-game schedule, Tape. On day 3, give me quality players who can contribute. A guy like Gainwell or Carter could make an impact as rookies. Snell really doesn't have a role anymore and I really didn't see anything to get excited about from McFarland. Carter had a very productive college career and Gainwell is far and away the best receiving back in the draft and would bring a special skillset in for the Steelers.

The Broncos even traded up to get williams.
But with the current lack of depth in other spots plus previous investment in McFarland I don't see taking another RB as a remote possibility

Cox will go in the first 5 picks today. They haven't traded up yet so I doubt they will now but he would be a great value in the 4th. A ILB that can legit play sideline to sideline. Pair him with Bush and there ya go.

Here's some guys i'm looking at for round 4

Biggest needs are Edge rusher, CB, ILB and LT. That's probably the order the steelers have it too.

OLB Shaka Toney Penn State - would have a bit of learning curve for OLB but could contribute immediately as pass rusher
OLB Rashad Weaver Pitt - same as Toney

OT Tommy Doyle Miami OH - athletic with long 35 inch arms
OT Stone Forsythe Florida - big 6'7 with long arms, looks like Villanueva

CB Shaun Wade Ohio State - looked like a 1st rounder until terrible 2020. Was he playing hurt?
CB Shakur Brown Mich State - had 5 INTs in shortened season
CB Marco Wilson Florida - very fast

ILB Jabril Cox LSU - more like a safety

Wildcards
WR Simi Fohoko Stanford - big and fast but raw, could be another Claypool
WR Shi Smith South Carolina - quick slot guy. Steelers could use another one because Canada may want more YAC guys

I'm all in on these choices!!!

Ask yourself...is Cox better than Spillane? I don't think so...

Looking at the draft board, it feels like cornerback and edge should have pretty good options in this round.

Did you watch Klemm's press conference? Everything he said about the guy shows they were targeting that specific player. Nothing wrong with that either. Find guys who are good football players and fit with what you want to do.
I meant absolutely no ill will about the center pick... tge guy was in a lot of sleeper picks and undersized pulling centers are our mold... except dawson of course... he was just a freak

Berm, Cox is DIFFERENT than Spillane. Would provide that sub package coverage LB spot they've been trying to fill. Hell, if he was a little thicker, a little more aggressive and stout against the run, he could be a 3 down backer. He's 6'3", 233 with a frame that could take more weight. Taking a proven producer from a Power 5 conference as a developmental guy. Yeah, if he is there for the Steelers, they should at least consider it.

I didn't take it that way, I was in agreement with you that the Steelers keyed in on Green and Klemm indicated it with his specific feedback. I'm excited to see what he can do in the NFL.

Shawn wade is worth moving up for as a slot guy... 100% was a first rounder until they moved him to the outside and he struggled a bit... he should have just sat out the season and hed have been a first

CB Shawn Wade
OLB Weaver
OT Lucas
LB/S Cox
OT Jackson Iowa
OLB/ILB Mcgrome
S Sterns

Gowan needs development so i dont trust us... wade fits us in the slot right now and could be a safety too...

not bad athlethetic pure LT long arms

I'm really impressed w/ Josh Palmer, WR - seems like a great compliment to our WR room...
Too slow
Too small
Too Canadian

Too bad............ drafted by the Chargers in Round 3

He went earlier than I thought on my list of Canadian born in this draft

Alaric Jackson OT
Chuba Hubbard RB still out there

As we speak, no. In a year from now, probably a big yes. Spillane is a run stopper like Williams with a little more speed. Cox can cover RB's and TE's. Spillane struggles.

steelers up again in a few picks, then a long wait until round 6 pick 32. That means that this is essentially the last pick the steelers can reasonably expect to possibly start or play significant snaps outside of special teams.

I think it has to be a pass rusher.

Buddy Johnson ILB? I'm sorry, but this is a ******* terrible pick. He's not a coverage guy. Why draft a thumper when you have Vince and Spliiane? This makes no sense at all to ignore pass rush and CB for what? A special teamer? A guy who competes with Vince and Spillane to be a 2 down LB?

Makes no sense at all.

Has some one hacked their draft feed. Loudermilk???? And Wade to the Ravens WTF?
