The Coronavirus thread

OMG! Krugman didn’t have to discuss rates BECAUSE he stated they had the SAME POPULATION. (The SAME DENOMINATOR). Its not a different argument at all. Once you have different denominators, THEN you have to rely on rates. You really don’t understand ratios.

Let me try: 1,275,431 out of 1,275,431 posts by Floggy are freeloader Chinese flu fear porn. That's 100%.

0 out of Tibilo's 284,312 moronic pro-Commie posts are rational. That's zero percent.

Say it, Floggy & Tibilo - China is to blame, not Donald Trump.

5gym68.jpg

Until you both say that China is to blame for the goddamn lab-made Chinese flu, anything you say is pure bullshit spit-shining bootlicking quisling bleating propaganda from the Chinese.

You know, the ones who MADE THE VIRUS THEN RELEASED IT.

And as was established, he compared apples and oranges.

If South Dakato had 2-4Million people that came into the state daily at 8AM and left by 8PM or so EVERY DAY, then he would have an argument. He judged San Fran on ONLY it's resident population, conveniently OMITTING the MILLIONS of people that operate there a day - their cases, their deaths. Just didn't factor them in, despite San Francisco generating untold tens of thousands of cases and potentially deaths.

This would be like you saying O'Hare Airport only had 432 cases of COVID because you only looked at their staff, not counting the number of people that came into and out of the airport, caught COVID there, and left and went home with it...WHERE it would have been registered.

What don't you get about how absurd his argument is?????

Krugman is an idiot man, no shocker you subscribe to his thinking.

Answer this question: How many cases and deaths did San Francisco generate that were logged in these surrounding counties? How many of those people picked up the virus IN San Francisco and took it home. Remember, in total, over 3Million people a day flood into and out of that city that live elsewhere. We will wait.

Fine, then South Dakota also had many more deaths because many of them rode out of Sturgis on the back of a Harley to other states. Lemme guess, you no longer like that argument?

No DIPSHIT I'm totally fine with that argument because the premise is accurate. If you want to talk about COVID, talk about it equally and in context. Thanks for finally seeing the god damned argument and making mine for me.
  • If people came to Sturgis, got/spread COVID, and left...Sturgis should be blamed for spreading COVID.
  • If people go to San Francisco daily, get/spread COVID and leave....San Francisco should be blamed for spreading COVID.
  • If people go to a BLM rally, get/spread COVID and leave...the BLM rally should be blamed for spreading COVID.
  • If people go to a gay pride march, get/spread COVID and leave...the gay pride march should be blamed for spreading COVID.
  • If Floggy and his family vaca in Florida during the lockdowns...Floggy should be blamed for any COVID he spread.
Thus...Krugman is an idiot. His argument is idiotic. And you're a fool for having spread it then trying to defend it.

PS...don't say South Dakota had MANY more deaths because of Sturgis. What an exaggeration. How many died due to Sturgis?

ONE. A study Noem destroyed.

Comparing one biker event to MILLIONS coming into and out of San Francisco every day is like comparing a nickel to a billion dollars.

Your argument is folly, Tim. Anyway you slice it, San Francisco/San Fran metro, etc. South Dakota still has a much higher death rate.

And Krugman’s article was about urban areas, not urban areas and their suburbs. He’s been a professor at both MIT and Princeton, where have you been a professor?

Thanks for your concession of defeat.
  • South Dakota had "higher rates."
  • What matters is where we are. It would appear, TODAY, what South Dakota did is working and what California did is not. The current data doesn't lie.
  • South Dakota did not HAVE more deaths than San Francisco.
  • Yes we should judge all locales the same within the same context...San Francisco, Sturgis, BLM rallies.
Finally, I don't give a flying **** what his credentials are. His argument was stupid and I sliced it to pieces. Just as you mitigate those we offer up with PhDs, likewise, we can do the same. I've often found him to be very Brian Stelter like.

Are you counting the suicides caused by the shutdowns, the isolation, the overdoses generated by despondency and loss of everything people worked for? Are you including the immolation of quality of life by the imbecile politicians who shat on the middle class and small businesses, while never missing out on a $300 entree or a hair appointment themselves? Are you including the theft of a year of life and education of a generation of young people in California?

Floggy, you disgusting, stupid freeloader, we know that you did just fine during the pandemic, made vastly worse by China's lies and idiot politicians grabbing power, but your utter self-absorption and complete lack of concern for the rest of the world is disgusting. You refuse to contribute to this forum, despite making extra money due to the Chinese flu. You prattle on about Trump killing people, and never offer a single ******* negative word about China. You lecture us about "right-wingers" and the vaccine, and ignore the four different ******* times I have presented undisputed evidence from the CDC and other that it is PEOPLE OF COLOR who are not getting the vaccine. You preen on and on about safety, lockdowns, blah-dee-*******-blah, and scoot off to non-lockdown Florida for a good time because you made bank on the virus.

You are disgusting, vile, worthless, bleating, stupid, propagandist for the grifters who made a killing on the virus (pun intended). You are a virus kapo.

And Krugman’s article was about urban areas, not urban areas and their suburbs. He’s been a professor at both MIT and Princeton, where have you been a professor?

As expected, when stomped in another argument, you unleash a logical fallacy. Your comment has literally nothing to do with Krugman's stupidity or Tim's arguments. Nothing. Instead, it is something called an "ad hominem" argument.

And to differentiate, when I point out how stupid, vile, corrupt, and greedy you are, I am not engaging in an ad hominem attack, since I don't make those points to prove some other argument - I simply show that you are a stupid, vile, corrupt, greedy, lying virus kapo.

What matters is where we are today? Tell that to all the People of South Dakota that lost family members to Covid.

San Dakota had more deaths. You don’t get to make your own reality.

Now that is your argument? Good Lord, then tell that to those in NJ, NY, MA, RI, MS, AZ, LA, AL, and CT, each of which had a higher death rate.

1626728416604.png

San Dakota (whatever the hell that is) did have more deaths than San Francisco County. I've already destroyed that comparison.

I've asked you to tell me how many COVID cases and deaths came from San Francisco County that weren't counted in San Francisco County. I'm still waiting.

HINT: The vast majority of them are in those suburbs....try looking there. I've already provided you the data. Should be easy.

Regardless, it does matter where we are NOW. Because the goal is beating COVID, is it not? And as of today, San Dakota (lol) is doing a better job with COVID than San Francisco County, the bay area, and a large swath of the USA. Perhaps...just perhaps...their strategy worked eh?

I wager that Floggy has never been to San Francisco. Seriously, liberals almost never have done or seen the things they rant about.

He probably has no clue that San Francisco is ******* tiny, and that almost all of the downtown is filled with office buildings. The price per square foot is such that the actual city population is puny. Wanna know why? Liberals are ******* stupid:

1900 square feet, 4 BR, 2 1/2 B, $1.85 million, $941 per square foot.

I could fit that ******* thing in my barn.

"Cuz liberals so smarty." No, because liberals are ******* morons who control every facet of human existence, **** up every thing they touch, extort property owners and developers to "raise re-election funds" (i.e., to grift and extort), **** up their own voters, impose the stupidest ordinances imaginable, dry up supply with their idiocy, and then wonder why things are so expensive after they dried up the supply chain.

Hah, called it. Go to Zillow for San Francisco and look at basically every vastly overpriced, small single family residence. Year built ... 1912, 1939, 1922, 1924, 1912.

Huh. Apparently they stopped building 100 years ago.

And never forget:

E51y7XaUYAUDOlU

It looks like that isn't from our completely transparent and devoid of corruption CDC though, so, you know, maybe wait for Media Matters or XiNN to weigh in.
So, after all this, the Covid kills less than the flu, bro?

So, after all this, the Covid kills less than the flu, bro?

The mortality rate among the infected is pretty close - something TSF and I believed likely about 18 months ago. The problem is that the Chinese scientists were very successful - VERY successful - in engineering the virus with the CGG-CGG genome to make it virulently contagious. I underestimated the degree of evil of the Chinese scientists and did not give them enough credit for making the virus so contagious, to insure maximum transmission and chaos, so the number of deaths is much higher due to the lab-made contagion properties of the virus, NOT the mortality rate (as idiots like Floggy argued for months).

“Tell me how many deaths that weren’t counted in San Francisco came from San Francisco!” LOL! Are you sure you wouldn’t rather go with “Prove that Bigfoot doesn’t exist!” You’ve provided just as much proof.

Do you realize what an idiotic point you are at now?

You argue that events like Sturgis were super spreader events. You acknowledge events like those, where people gather from all over in a single location, cause the passing of COVID, then the spread of COVID back to wherever they come from.

But on San Francisco, you refuse to acknowledge that millions of people gather there daily, who do not live there, spread COVID while in San Francisco, then spread the COVID back to wherever they come from.

Which is it Floggy? Do people contract COVID at events like Sturgis or at work in San Francisco, then travel to other places and spread the virus....or don't they?

I'll wait.

I’ve been to San Fran. It’s not much smaller than Pittsburgh but has almost three times the population.

I posted studies about the Sturgis super spreader, you just posted another “let’s say” argument about San Fran.

One death from Sturgis. One.

Next, one doesn't need a study to understand simple human dynamics. If a virus is contagious, and large amounts of people gather, there's a high chance the virus will spread. Second, urban metro areas are famous for a simple dynamic - far more people work there than live there. In the case of San Francisco, it's 3-5x more people in the city daily than live there. The DC metro area, where I live...is that way. People live here, work there. Daily they are in and out of the city.

You want to argue they don't catch COVID in the city and bring it home to their families? I'd like to hear you say that.

If millions gather there in the day, every day, then leave - it's simple ******* logic to figure out...these people take the virus home. Where the cases will get logged. That's why the surrounding counties for every metro area for the past year have been thick with cases.

Finally, you yourself have argued endlessly about how population density exacerbates the spread of COVID. Now, you conveniently want to dismiss that.

Logic evades Liberals.

You continue to just make **** up, Tim. 3-5x as many people work in San Fran than live there? Obvious nonsense. 2.3 - 4 MILLION people are NOT commuting into and out of San Fran. How? Logistically, how does that happen? What’s your source?

I’ve been to San Fran.

You continue to just make **** up, Tim. 3-5x as many people work in San Fran than live there? Obvious nonsense. 2.3 - 4 MILLION people are NOT commuting into and out of San Fran. How?

You clearly have no idea about San Francisco. Those who actually know about San Francisco live by a rule - get where you're going by 7:00 a.m. or get ready to be late. The traffic is beyond terrible.

A total of eight bridges feed traffic into San Francisco. The two largest are the Bay Bridge from the east and the Golden Gate from the north. Further to the south are the San Mateo Bridge and the Dumbarton Bridge. A ****-ton of people use the bridges to the south because those feed residents of Fremont, Union City and Pleasanton into Palo Alto. From there, people drive north into San Francisco proper.

Unless you have driven one of the bridges during rush hour, you cannot comprehend how many people are going into the city in the morning. You can't and don't. This is my memory of the Bay Bridge:

your cute little link (HOLY ****, YOU'RE LEARNING TO PROVIDE LINKS!!!) shows 368k people on movement into and out of San Francisco per day, Over the course of one week, that's 1.8 million people commuting into and out of the city.

does that mesh with your silly argument of people moving into and out of South Dakota?
