It’s laughable that people really think if republicans were in charge any of this would not be happening the same general way but in a flipped demographic… they are two sides of the same crooked stupid coin.:
Oregon is middle of the road in vaccinations, how many of the hospitalized are fully vaccinated?
It’s the Mayo Clinic, Tim. They’ve been around for 130 years and employ 63,000 people. Do you really think they don’t know what they’re talking about, and you do?
Again, I can’t imagine the maddening reality you must endure.
Masks are safe and effective at preventing the spread of COVID-19, according to health officials and fact-checkers.

Mad props to you Katie and all of the other front line workers who know far more about the risks of both COVID and the vaccines than we do, who have the backbone to stand up to this totalitarianism.

That study came out about three weeks after a hilariously biased one from the same general Canadian group saying they were 99% effective and tge second one still was a total joke of methodologiesLMAO...according to fact checkers? You might entertain yourself and go research who fact checkers are.
In this and the other thread, you have been presented with hundreds of peer reviewed articles, research, findings by medical professionals and researchers that show masks are nearly 100% ineffective at controlling the spread of COVID. Fauci has said so. Biden's administration health officials have said so.
Science, medical professionals, and legions of your own beloved Progressive world have shown you and told you...they do not work.
Head...in...sand.
And this just out.

Most face masks won't stop COVID-19 indoors, study warns
Despite wearing a face mask, the study finds a large buildup of aerosol droplets suspended in the air coming from wearers.www.studyfinds.org
New research reveals that cloth masks filter just 10% of exhaled aerosols, with many people not wearing coverings that fit their face properly.
WATERLOO, Ontario — N95 or KN95 face masks may be the best way to avoid COVID-19 during crowded indoor events. That’s the recommendation from a new study reporting most cloth masks just don’t do the job when it comes to stopping the spread of coronavirus within enclosed spaces.
Researchers from the University of Waterloo simulated a person breathing in a large room with a cloth face mask on. Despite wearing a mask, the study finds a large buildup of aerosol droplets suspended in the air. Besides raising awareness on the vulnerability of certain face masks, these findings also emphasize the need for proper ventilation indoors. More ventilation means less of a chance for potentially viral aerosols to linger around.
----------
Ventilation is far more important and more effective due to aerosols hanging in the air. This is why with contact tracing we saw so few cases of COVID caught in public in office buildings, retail, gyms. They have far greater HVAC systems than people do in their homes.
shift from masks to ionic air filtration
“Yes, we’re to blame but if Trump won the election then the democrats would be to blame” is a pointless and pathetic hypothetical. It’s laughable that people really think if republicans were in charge any of this would not be happening the same general way but in a flipped demographic… they are two sides of the same crooked stupid coin.:
OK, I’m going to go with 97% of Oregon’s hospitalized are unvaccinated…They are 13th in vaccination status. Middle of the road would be 25. Wrong again.
You answer the second question.
“Yet.. you discount the CDC ” someone just lectured.LMAO...according to fact checkers? You might entertain yourself and go research who fact checkers are.

It dawned on me why there's such a difference of opinion around here regarding masks, mitigation measures, vaccines.
It seems Tim and many others here start off at a 100% certainty point, and work back from there.
Meaning, that any and all measures should achieve 100% guaranteed results. If they don't, they're worthless.
It's all or nothing.
- If masks can't stop 100% of air particles and can't guarantee you won't be infected, they're worth nothing.
- If social distancing, the use of hand sanitizer & other mitigation measures aren't bulletproof, let's dismiss them out of hand.
- If vaccinations can't guarantee you won't be infected, get sick & hospitalized or die, screw the vaccines, they suck.
- If there are studies out there raising questions about any of the above, that's good enough reason to reject them all.
I, on the other hand, start from scratch. Begin at point zero, with the understanding there's a dangerous, airborne virus out there that's become a worldwide pandemic. Unchecked & left to its own devices, Covid can be dangerous and deadly to myself and my loved ones.
So let's build up from there.
- If masks can be even slightly helpful in not catching this virus, I'll gladly wear one to protect myself & my family.
- If social distancing, using hand sanitizer, abiding by CDC guidelines can help even a little, I'm all for it.
- If the vaccine improves my chances of not getting infected and infecting others, helps keep me from getting really sick or dying, sign me up immediately.
So it's a top-down approach vs. a bottom-up one.
That's why there's such a huge void between how we see this, individually & collectively.

IDK, two weeks ago, no one was wearing them, today I was in 3 or 4 stores and I'd guess 40% were masked. The fear mongering is real.I think the issue is more, if things help only a little and you're willing to do them, great. Good for you. I do them, I might even try to persuade others to do the same.
That doesn't mean people should be forced to do them. It certainly doesn't mean people should be forced to do them ad infinitum.
I've been saying from the beginning of all this, I actually think mask mandates have resulted in a net loss of people willing to wear them. People don't like being forced to do things, especially things that are probably only mildly beneficial.
Agree. And once this is forced on you, what's next? I think everyone should be vaccinated. But it isn't up to me. And besides, I'd never make anyone get the shot anyway. I think it's stupid not to, but people have their reasons. Pretty sure it is mostly political, even if people won't admit it.I think the issue is more, if things help only a little and you're willing to do them, great. Good for you. The pain, exhaustion and utter disbelief in her voice that this is happening in America was pretty evident. These are getting hard to watch.
