Even the one you posted Tim was absolutely absurd in it’s conclusions…
it states that 90% of the viral load escapes standarg surgical masks through the sides, but advocates N95 ones that are fitted and then states that they reduce tge viral load by 50%…. So in other words 50% of the viral load even in multilayered cloth masks are escaping … and since these are not large respiratory droplets they aren’t falling out within 6 feet and there is a limited culmination of viral load in stagnant air supplies….
shift from masks to ionic air filtration… that is way better anyhow

It dawned on me why there's such a difference of opinion around here regarding masks, mitigation measures, vaccines.
It seems Tim and many others here start off at a 100% certainty point, and work back from there.
Meaning, that any and all measures should achieve 100% guaranteed results. If they don't, they're worthless.
It's all or nothing.
- If masks can't stop 100% of air particles and can't guarantee you won't be infected, they're worth nothing.
- If social distancing, the use of hand sanitizer & other mitigation measures aren't bulletproof, let's dismiss them out of hand.
- If vaccinations can't guarantee you won't be infected, get sick & hospitalized or die, screw the vaccines, they suck.
- If there are studies out there raising questions about any of the above, that's good enough reason to reject them all.
I, on the other hand, start from scratch. Begin at point zero, with the understanding there's a dangerous, airborne virus out there that's become a worldwide pandemic. Unchecked & left to its own devices, Covid can be dangerous and deadly to myself and my loved ones.
So let's build up from there.
- If masks can be even slightly helpful in not catching this virus, I'll gladly wear one to protect myself & my family.
- If social distancing, using hand sanitizer, abiding by CDC guidelines can help even a little, I'm all for it.
- If the vaccine improves my chances of not getting infected and infecting others, helps keep me from getting really sick or dying, sign me up immediately.
So it's a top-down approach vs. a bottom-up one.
That's why there's such a huge void between how we see this, individually & collectively.

I think the issue is more, if things help only a little and you're willing to do them, great. Good for you. I do them, I might even try to persuade others to do the same.
That doesn't mean people should be forced to do them. It certainly doesn't mean people should be forced to do them ad infinitum.
I've been saying from the beginning of all this, I actually think mask mandates have resulted in a net loss of people willing to wear them. People don't like being forced to do things, especially things that are probably only mildly beneficial.

A guy I work with was on vacation in Florida, contracted COVID, and died Sunday. He was unvaccinated. He was a black guy that was a staunch Democrat. Point is, COVID is coming for all of us. **** doesn't care who you voted for or what you believe. I personally think vaccination is the way to go, but to each his own. I know I'm tired of all this ****. Tired of the masks, the bickering, the nonsense. Pretty sure the vaccines are safe. I mean, how many vaccines have you heard about that 10 years down the road you develop complications? Most vaccines, you get your side effects or complications anywhere from a couple hours to a couple weeks after injection. I'm going on 7 months fully vaccinated. No issues. Feel like I'm pretty good to go. Vaccine injury is historically low, and the same holds true here. Just admit it's political and get on with it.

I wonder why, if as we hear over and over again on this site, there is virtually no risk to her from covid, she says that she risked her life and lived in fear of getting covid for months. Sounds like she saw some stuff that might have scared her.
I would also ask her for the data on her assertion that the mortality rate from this vaccine is higher than any other. I can only assume she's referring to VAERS data, which as we know is not and should not be interpreted as mortality rate data. As an RN she would know that so I would be curious about what data she's referring to. I would want to ask her how many deaths she's seen that were caused by a vaccine, vs. deaths she's seen caused by covid. Sounds like she saw a whole heck of a lot of covid deaths.
IDK, two weeks ago, no one was wearing them, today I was in 3 or 4 stores and I'd guess 40% were masked. The fear mongering is real.

Agree. And once this is forced on you, what's next? I think everyone should be vaccinated. But it isn't up to me. And besides, I'd never make anyone get the shot anyway. I think it's stupid not to, but people have their reasons. Pretty sure it is mostly political, even if people won't admit it.
