Steelers - Bills game thread #onTheRoadAgain

I was impressed with the defensive play calls. Did not seem to blitz much and we were able to drop into coverage. Watt, Heyward, and Ingram played great up front and the secondary was better than expected. Even the TD Sutton gave up was excellent coverage. Allen did miss a wide open WR early, but other than that the D was solid. Offense came to life just enough to squeak out a win. Going on the road w/ 71k fans against one of the best AFC teams and winning is impressive no matter how it looked.
Yeah the defense played a sound game.
Offense will improve as the season goes on. I’d like to see less of the fake jet sweeps until Najee can really make the defense respect the run, then the personnel on field can get fancy

special teams came through clutch

I really liked what I saw in Naj....Even though it was one game, he did not get discouraged and kept hitting the line... Many do not remember what it was like to have a running game but it takes much persistence and perseverance. Now what I saw today I would not call a "running game" but it supplied just enough to keep Ben from getting totally run over every snap. I'm expecting to see the line and Naj gel over the coming weeks and we might get to the point midway to the end of the season where we see Ben throwing the ball to keep the defense honest....You never know but I hope we get back to that point....The playoffs and the weather that usually accompanies them were built for a strong running game...
There were a bunch of times I felt we were going to run where last season I know we would have.....Ben ran play action. He didn't complete all of his passes from this but he hit some big plays that led to our victory. Kudos to Canada.

The D played awesome overall. Watt? What can you say? He laced em up today and did what he normally does. Awesome to not see a dropoff,,,,Great game for Ingram and Sutton...They had a couple game changing plays....Hayward with the timely sack! Damn they are going to be a force to be reckoned with... What was the name of the LB who left via FA?

Everyone is happy. The Steelers got a win and all the SN drama queens got to unload 6 months worth of angst they had stored up.

Haha! Just finished watching it. Nice second half turnaround by the offense. Way to adjust, Tomlin! (never thought I'd say that)
Great job overall by the D

So many players stepped up on defense. Maybe something special is starting here. On the offensive side......players played in the second half. They were put in a spot to succeed and answered the call.

Its like someone told them to go out there and have fun....You can't play when you are playing tight. Go out by the elm tree and cut left, then go up. It will be on your left shoulder!! Ok break!!

Olivia Newton John? Holy hell you are old.... ;)

Maybe but I was making a line up for all takers and they need the young with the old to round them out.......................

Ok dude...What were we talking about? ;)

So we're playing the Las Vegas Raiders next week.......How totally wrong is that? Lyle must be rolling over in his grave...

Yeah he is. I replaced ONJ with Olivia Munn. More around my age bracket ya know

AGAIN, no replacements..................... you get the three or nothing, Coolie tried that replacement crap as well and you see he's not here as he is busy............

Pass blocking was giving Ben a couple of extra seconds it seems also. Kudos to the adjustments at half-time.

Coach Klem coaching up the OL. Munchack was noted for that so here we have another coach doing it as well. Dan MOORE looked good out there.

Saw today why coaches have been full of praise for Norwood, for alate round rookie thought he had a solid game. Ingram was bringing the heat, once our olinde gets some time together hopefully we see our running game start to flourish. Great team win

You and I both know you can't be perfect on every play but we aso know he did enough to win the game as a team. Defense did their part and offense did as well. Give BEN another game or two and hopefully he can get it going.

I never saw him in there when that was said 53 was the center the whole time.

No, Hassenauer was in a series. He is #60, and I thought maybe Steelers would go no-huddle. They were up-tempo a bit, and Green was back in the game shortly after.

Exactly. Great call. I always think that 3 yard gains in the 1st quarter become 4 yards in the second quarter, 6 in the 3rd and gashing runs in the 4th. That is because the offensive line likes to shove those DL guys off the ball, and defensive lineman start to pursue ball carriers beyond the LOS and get gassed, get pushed around even more.

It was amazing how the Bills kept putting 8 and 9 in the box. At times it looked like 10. This was the entire game. Another mistake I believe the Bills coaching staff made.

You mean that guy from Kentucky whose new team got their ***** handed to them today?

Nothing better than a gassed DL at the end of the game...It's like blood in the water..
