I agree with Nolte. For certain people in certain age groups and/or with certain health conditions, the vaxes are perfect for them. They aren't for everyone (those 20-21 and under). He also doesn't discuss the naturally immune.

It’s not just your body when it’s a contagious disease and when hospitals are forced to treat the unvaccinated. Would you be in favor of hospitals being able to tell unvaccinated Covid patients “Hey, it was your choice. **** off!” and deny them care? No? Then why shouldn’t there be mandates?

Sure, right after they turn away every obese person that develops diabetes, fatty liver disease, or any other disease as a result of their lifestyle choices. You've lived under the false notion that those of us who are Republican have endorsed 100% of Trump's words/actions. Despite the writings of all of us over the past 5 years demonstrably showing we have disagreed with the man, you have idiotically assumed the opposite.

Here is where I disagree with Trump's comments and there were only two of substance:

• "We came up with 3 vaccines, all are very very good." - Wrong. I was actually in the hospital on 12/20. Discussed the vaccines with the Doctor and the nurse. Brought up J&J. Mentioned its efficacy is down to 3%. Doctor confirmed, nodded and said "the J&J is junk."
• I further disagree with Trump - if the vaccines were very very good they would not have waned so rapidly. This is documented. Floggy argues this despite it being provable. I hope you aren't as daft.
• Those who are getting very sick and going to the hospital are the unvaccinated. Partially true. Why do leaders, including Trump, make these "either or" binary comments though? Do more unvaxed end up sick? Yes. Likewise, are more vaxed people month after month as a percentage ending up hospitalized/dying? Yes. See the latest, New Mexico, an increase of 14% in deaths among the vaxed in just a month.
• I challenge Trump to be objective. The vaccines aren't very very good. At best they are decent. They "may" be great after the 3rd or 4th booster. We don't know. Think about this: if someone goes out and starts the vax process now...doses 1 and 2 literally do NOTHING for that patient. They are zero percent protected. That's not a good vaccine.
• I challenge people to be objective. Hats off to Scott VanPelt, who went I think a little off script the other night on ESPN basically saying we live in a bizarre world where more and more athletes are testing positive with Corona and we expected the vaccines to be better.

That sums up our position. There isn't a person here who didn't want this over. There isn't a conservative here who didn't want the vaccines to work. There isn't a soul here who didn't want to trust the vaccines.

We just deserved better than these vaccines. Much better. You know, like vaccines that prevent spread...and the entire NHL doesn't shut down when 100% it's people are "protected".

You live in the either or binary, that I just wrote about. The vaccines do not work to prevent spread. The vaccines partially work to prevent serious illness/death, but that is evolving negatively for the vaccines. As time passes, like Dr. Fauci said, more and more vaxed are getting the virus, getting sick from it, and dying from it.

The vaccine is perfect for people like my elderly parents. People with comorbidity. Where the risk of the vaccines is safer than the risk of Covid. For the young it's utterly the opposite. Studies have shown the young are at more risk from the vaccines than the virus.

But given how contagious omicron is, experts say, it's seriously time to upgrade to an N95 or similar high-filtration respirator when you're in public indoor spaces.

"Cloth masks are not going to cut it with omicron," says Linsey Marr, a researcher at Virginia Tech who studies how viruses transmit in the air.

Omicron is so much more transmissible than coronavirus variants that have come before it. It spreads at least three times faster than delta. One person is infecting at least three others at a time on average, based on data from other countries.

"It's very contagious," says Dr. Robert Wachter, chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. "And the kind of encounter that you could have had with prior versions of the virus that would have left you uninfected, there's now a good chance you will get infected from it."
