This is ridiculous. They either reduce droplets from flying around or they don't. If they do they should have some efficacy against any airborne respiratory virus. If they don't then why the **** have we been wearing them? Why are kids still going to school in them? Why the **** is this woman who has been on TV for two years just admitting this now? This makes me furious.

Anybody with more than 3 brain cells that works in medicine can tell you that an N95 mask, properly fitted, will reduce virus transmission through aerosolized particulate. The fabric masks, "dental masks", gathers, face shields...etc do NOTHING to prevent aerosolized particles. They never have and never will. That is what is so frustrating. Had Fauci, the CDC, the WHO all said from day one that everyone should wear an N95 mask, I would be right on board. The fact that medical professionals kept saying that "any mask" is better than no mask was total bullshit. Once you start lying to the public, don't be surprised when nobody believes anything that you say going forward.

Look, I specialize in gas particle testing, but i do a dozen or so particulate tests a year… even low micron quartz fiber filters have limitations… for small aerosols we have to run the air stream through liquid to trap it…

Large liquid droplets are easy to trap on material… when i was in the covid ward the stuff the people were wearing were much higher than p95/n95 stuff… a lot of the people were in p99 or p100 masks.. in the more severe isolation wards they had eye protection, wore disposable suits, and each room had a high efficiency air circulation system shuffling air out of the room constantly…

All things they downplayed telling us surgical masks with no fitted seal would do anything reasonable against an aerosol

I have never believed cloth masks were very effective. It made sense to me that they might keep some spew out of the air in crowded places, they might reduce spread a little, they were a minimally invasive measure so why the hell not. But along the way they were somehow turned into something that basically signaled you’re akin to a murderer if you don’t wear one. Now to hear some of these exact same people say they are completely useless, nothing but a facial decoration…meanwhile people were thrown off planes for not forcing their 2 year olds to wear one as if that might actually kill someone…children wearing them all day every day in school…billions of dollars spent on CHINESE manufactured cloth and fake medical grade masks…. absolutely ******* infuriating.

I'll repeat the following. Maybe, one day....the point will get through your soy boy skull. We deserved better vaccines. Less dangerous vaccines. Vaccines that worked to prevent spread (necessary - utterly - to ending a pandemic). Vaccines that didn't wane. Vaccines that don't allow 25-28% of those with it to continue to catch the diseases. Vaccines that don't show a significant increase in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths among the vaccinated. Vaccines that don't require endless boosters.

We deserved better.

I was wondering after my family did 5 home tests, what happens to all of the nasal swabs with Covid and god knows what else on them? We just threw them away. So I guess they’re all in landfills.

But throw your swabs in the trash and let others handle it.

Update: My friend left the ICU today and is down from 100% to 50% oxygen. Hoping to go home soon. So that's a relief.

Mr. OFTB still has mild cold symptoms but is getting better. Weirdly I have had some cold symptoms yesterday and today too but just took another test and still negative. Thought for sure I was going to test positive. Kids are all fine. I would advise anyone who had the J&J to get boosted with something else. He's the only one in our house who's caught this despite us all sitting in a car together for 2.5 hours.

I want to reiterate my position. One I think MANY of us share. One I think makes complete, total sense.

I wanted these vaccines to work. And to be safe. Sadly, they partially work, only. They have proven to be more dangerous than any other vaccines used en masse by mankind.

I want this "pandemic" to be over. I want life to go back to normal, like everyone does.

Sadly, everything we have tried to date has failed. We have set world and national records in new Covid cases as of yesterday. It's time to call our approaches failed, and re-think our approach.

I want a vaccine. I'm at high risk. In my 50s, asthmatic. I would prefer to have a vaccine. I just don't trust these vaccines, I don't want to be on the endless booster train, and I have little faith they do the job they are supposed to do, as evidenced by the results. So I refuse these vaccines, while waiting for better.

The moment Novavax is made available in the USA, I'll get one. Sadly, it appears due to money, Pfizer and Moderna will prevent the introduction of Novavax to the US market despite the WHO and Europe approving its use overseas. That is criminal.

If masks worked to control the spread of Covid, I'd wear one - all the time. They don't. I wear them still in public. Knowing they do nothing, but I wear them.

Happily, my employer approved my religious exemption. It will be revisited at the end of March.

If lockdowns worked to end the pandemic, I'd be all in. I WAS all in at first. I played drill sergeant at home, allowing no one to come and go. I did wipe down groceries for a couple weeks. I followed the lines in the grocery store. I took all of this very seriously. Until it was evident, these measures were having no effect. See Australia, and countless other countries.

I'm no fan of Covid. I just see the obvious - the measures we have taken are not working. We deserve better vaccines and better measures to address the virus.

There are several therapeutics being used for Covid. You’re going down (another) rabbit hole.

The records being set are primarily due to unvaccinated cases. How do you blame the vaccines for that? Answer that question.

You were claiming nine months ago that we were near heard immunity thanks to, wait for it… NATURAL IMMUNITY. What happened, Tim? Covid natural immunity had a year long head start on the vaccines. Seems like your natural immunity is failing us.

The vaccines aren’t what is failing 90% of Covid ICU patients.
