I can respect what your saying about your business and there is a lot of truth to that. However an NFL business is not like any other business. Unless of course you can tell me and prove to me that your business can be one of the most profitable businesses around while running your business into the ground. Even the worst NFL team is more profitable than just about any other business. It's a truly one of a kind business. A business where no matter how terrible you do your still making a crap ton of profit and honestly can leave it on auto suck pilot and still make money hand over fist.
For this reason alone i would argue that Art 2 is not up to snuff. I see a man that ignores a lot of glaring signs. I absolutely believe that he probably knows the dollar and cents of it all. But all the drama that has happened with players, the ineptness of the coaching staff. The snafus with coches "retiring" only to go on and do well elsewhere. there's just a lot that to me says this man is more like Tomlin living off of the legacy that was handed to him while it slowly starts to go down the drain. He may be great at business for all we know. Hes terrible with football or just doesn't care much (dont know which or both). Tomlin is proof of this with his loss of leadership and control of the locker room. Vets speaking out against him and the staff says all we need to know.
Could i be wrong? Absolutely but looking at it from what we have seen of the Art 2 and Tomlin show i dont have alot of faith in the man.
There's also a huge difference of borrowing Dads car while he is still alive and sitting in the passenger seat and checking the oil still and keeping an eye on tune up as and the tires and all the important things compared to when Dad passes away and you have free reign of using his car without his eyes and help.
There is truth in the "fans" eye as to what you say, I agree with some and some to a degree. You don't have a clue to the behind the scenes as neither do I.
As with anything mega-big there is a lot of room for waste and it takes longer to show up on the bottom line. A small business has near operations just at a very much smaller scale with bottom line showing sooner than later. The NFL is a very public in the eye business but the cooked books are a different story. Behind the scenes are very private and ownership meetings are about secretive as they can get. ONLY what they want you to hear is released to the public thus a scewered view is created.
Not argueing with you on what you say but also pointing out we as fans have nowhere near the clue as to how or what they operate on.
NO, this is not a defense as to how I see the Tomlin subject but just pointing out that Art 2 has a lot more knowledge than any of us as to the running of the business know aS the Pittsburgh Steelers.
