2014 schedule

See yinz in Nashville & Atlanta for sure.

I do not think mine does either, it did not. I will likely need to go to the bar to watch it or read about it on here. Better commentary most of the time anyway even if the picture is not so good. The exceptions are the ten or twenty posts in a row of holy **** or what the **** or did you see that? Those are not helpful for those of us following on the board who are out of market and unable to watch the games.

Here are a few snipits from Fox Sports regarding the Steelers schedule I found amusing.

" No NFL fan base travels like Steelers supporters, and this season will be no different. Pittsburgh has seven roadies in the Eastern Time Zone (Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Atlanta, Carolina, Jacksonville, New York Jets) ... and just one in the Central Time Zone (Tennessee)".

" The Steelers have four separate back-to-back blocks of road games -- Baltimore-Carolina (Weeks 2-3), Jacksonville-Cleveland (Weeks 5-6), New York Jets-Tennessee (Weeks 10-11) and Cincinnati-Atlanta (Weeks 14-15)".

" Here's one more black-and-gold factoid: Pittsburgh is the only NFL team with two separate blocks of four-roadies-in-five-games this season. To counterbalance that, the Steelers have three straight home tilts (Weeks 7-9) and then back-to-back home games to cap the regular season (Vs. Chiefs, vs. Bengals)".

Doesn't look like much right now but who knows how it will shake out.

Never thought the Bungals would be a match up that concerned me.

I know there will eventually be a separate thread for predictions, but I'm thinking 10-6 and hosting a wild card game. That's about all I'm willing to stretch it after two horrible seasons.

No reason they should win less than 10 games. They have 10 very winnable games: Clowns (2), Bucs, Jags, Jets, Titans, Falcons, Texans, KC, then split with the rats and bungles. That's 11 wins if they just beat the team they should beat. That also doesn't count having the Saints at home in November. Unless Ben is hurt there is no reason they shouldn't challenge for the division.

Apparently CBS owns the rights to the Thursday night games.

Quote on steelers.com from Rooney ....

“We were chosen for the first-ever CBS Thursday Night Game, and it’s at the Ravens,” said Rooney. “It seems like all of our games against the Ravens lately are being shown on prime-time, so there’s obviously a lot of national interest in that rivalry. To have both of our games against the Ravens on prime-time this season will be something different.”

Am I the only one that thinks that the Steelers/Ravens Thursday night game is an attempt to get people to WATCH the games on Thursday nights ..

I hate Thursday night games

I fully agree with you, thursday night ratings have been lackidazical. Believe it or not, there are people out there, that don't watch football, especially when pitted agains a show they like!!!

I would burn down the city of Tampa after the game and send a letter to the mayor signed by Supe admitting guilt.

Supe never admits guilt. He hires an attorney to find loopholes.
