2017 Free Agent rumors and news

Looks like Gerald Hodges is still available. Haven't seen anything on what his asking price might be.

Adrian Peterson signs deal with Saints

Saints coach Sean Payton said that Peterson would share backfield duties with running back Mark Ingram.

Peterson told ESPN's Josina Anderson that the two-year deal is worth $7 million. Peterson said he has agreed to 2017 compensation of $3.5 million (all guaranteed at signing), which includes a $1 million guaranteed salary in 2017 and a $2.5 million signing bonus.

The maximum incentives package is $8.25 million, and whatever incentives are reached in 2017 get added to the per-game roster bonuses in 2018.

The 2018 compensation is $3.5 million, none of which is guaranteed. It includes $2.4 million in total roster bonuses (which includes a $750,000 roster bonus earned on the third day of free agency plus $1.65 million in per-game roster bonuses), a $1.05 million salary and a $50,000 workout bonus.

where'd the sticky go?

I'm not starting a new ******* thread for every ******* move - I'm not coach

Tre Boston, safety, cut by the panthers. Bring him in to compete with golden

Kinda wish we had a scat back...Knile Davis isn't exactly that at all...

It'd be nice to have one who could get to the AFCC starting 3 rookies on Defense, missing one of the DL stars and using 4th-6th string WR's and missing one of the top RB's in the NFL....oh, wait...

I meant one who can gameplan in the playoffs and not turtle every time he sees Bellicheat on the other sideline.

Oh Ark, my boy, haven't you learned that using sheer logic is against the rules here???

doesn't seem to be very many of those who can do it regularly. Where do propose they get one?

They could pluck somebody from a homeless shelter and probably have a better shot. (I'm only partly serious)

izzat where them Ryan brothers are now?

If that were true, the *'s wouldn't have been racking up 10+ wins every year. Even without Brady they racked up 20+ ppg. With Brady they scored under 27 three times in 12 games. In 2015 they scored less than 27 4 times out of 16 games. The last game looks to be after they had home field advantage locked up

You don't beat them by holding them to 17 points or less, you beat them by scoring more than 17. Our O left a lot of points on the field. That wasn't game planning issues.

That doesn't mean Tomlin cant improve against the *'s just that it is incredibly obvious (or should be) that finding someone who can do it better isn't that easy and, you are likely to do worse.

Well you don't want to just spend money to just be spending money as some say on here.....right?

Knew he would sign with Chargers as soon as I saw the list of interested teams. Likely got paid more for a better shot at being a starter out of the gate all while living in a warmer, sunnier place (like he has been doing). That is a win, win, win for Boston...unless you factor in things like winning, and then he would've signed with our beloved Steelers. As soon as he got on the plane leaving Pittsburgh me was destined to not be playing in the upcoming SB.

no....but at the same time I would like them to bring some S's and ILBers in for a looksee. As perhaps they find some upgraded depth before season kickoff.

Word from a Carolina fan of mine, that he wasn't on board with McDermott (or the new DC) and was biding his time for FA. In the fan's word a "meh" player. But, they are spoiled by Thomas Davis as a player.
