So we know
Cam Heyward is out for at least 8 weeks. He will be IR’d

Dionte Johnson has a hamstring and is questionable but no timetable on for how long he will be out ( expected a couple of weeks )

Chuks Okorafor has a concussion… no timetable on his return yet

Pat Friermuth is Questionable with an upper body injury

Demarvin Leal is questionable with an arm injury

Let me add Daniels and Ogunjobi. Neither were given official injury designations but both were mentioned by Tomlin yesterday…

So they definitely are going to activate Watts this week… they may sign Fehoko…here is a prediction :talk shows won’t shut up about bringing in JJ Watt…

They may activate gunner or bring up Dez Fitzpatrick. Im all about them kicking the tires on Denzel Mims, but I am not hopeful

Cook will get a helmet but i don’t think they add a OL

Cam is done. Sorry to see it end like this.

Moore was terrible when he flipped to RT and the kid played LT. KFP was more scared than Andy Dalton was with Deebo and Woodley coming at him.

Moore had almost 0 reps at RT. I think he worked independently this offseason but wasn't like he practiced there. He will have to learn on the fly if he is penciled in at RT but we shall see.

Man, good things we kept 7 DL. Loudermilk did well and my guess is Watts gets a hat and Fehoko gets called up. Who knows. Maybe having Fehoko in the middle helps the run defense. Lord knows it can't get worse.

Also, after the beating Levi Wallace took I don't see how JP2 doesn't get some playing time. Pat Pete was up and down but had a few PB;s. Wallace had his lunch money stole and was just beaten badly out there. Too scared to play near the LOS and still was getting beat down field. At least JP2 would have ran with Aiyuk.

Going off the Tomlin press conference, i don’t think tgey are going to bring up fehoko to be active … it sounds like they are just going to plug in watts

Same with wr … gunner gets a hat…

If Heyward has a groin I don't know why they wouldn't IR him with a designation to return. What is the IR rule like minimum 4 games out? I think Heyward will be out a MINIMUM of a month probably 6+ weeks.

He is going to be Ir’d and tgey probably bring up fehoko… but it sounds like he was talking about using Watts as an active player… Fehoko would take his spot on the inactive list…
Tomlin went out of his way to mention Watts and Gunner when talking about replacing the injured guys, so I am guessing they are getting hats

Oh, gotcha. Well, I would say if Adams plays like he did last week Fehoko should get the hat for NT the week after. Adams was thrown back multiple times.

I hope Cam sticks around the team. I’ve always thought he would make an excellent coach after his playing career is over.

Perhaps CMT,Coach Canada and Coach Austin can give him some pointers during his rehab. 👀

I wanted to cut Adams for salary cap savings so I won’t disagree with you there… but tgey are so damn opposed to using real NTs that i don’t think it will ever happen

That would be awesome… then he would know what not to do….

Diontae Johnson expected to miss multiple weeks.

So of course the JJ watt thing is going to flare up again… shortly the Chase young stuff will start too…

But a real and likely less expensive option might be Derek Barnett from the Eagles… he was supposed to be on the block and we do love ex eagles now….

Any update on Steely McBeam?

He suffered a scrape to his forehead from the hardhat but is good to go and will be replacing Harvin, the only weak spot on the Steelers per Tomlin.

You are all going to see how bad this offense is without DJ. He's the engine that moves the passing game. If we rely on CA3 at X, we're going to flounder. Hopefully we will move Robinson to the X and keep CA3 at the slot. This gives us our best chance at moving the football with an elite vet route runner at our most targeted position. I'm also not against GP moving to the X, but then CA3 or Robinson will have to slide to the Y. In that scenario, I think I'd like to see CA3 use his speed to stretch the field like Mike Wallace used to do.

Also Cam may be done period. He's 35. Now has an injury that requires surgery and he's going to miss 10-12 weeks. TJ Watt all over again. If he can't recover, I don't expect him to have a great 2024 and he may be done as a Steeler. I am all for JJ coming out of retirement though. It will take him a month to catch up, but damn the wattage would be unreal!

So do we slide Robinson or CA3 over?
I would slide Robinson. CA should be perfect for the slot. I am more interested in keeping the chains moving over the occasional deep ball opportunity.

We don't have to be minus DJ to see how bad the offense is. We saw it Sunday.

Wow. I read Stryker's comment and thought, "Jeez, he's right. DJ is the guy who gets open."

Then I read your response and realized you are both right. The offense was terrible Sunday and is likely to be worse on Monday night.

No worries!!
Punter has been noted as a problem, so that will get fixed and we are all good for Monday nite.
