I like Xavier Legettes size but don’t know a lot about him. Fill me in.
Not a fan of TWO WRs before adding much needed depth on DL.Not my final mock; but this haul is pretty darn good...

JC LathamOT Alabama - I'm still valuing OT over OC and JC will put Dan Moore Jr. on the bench. Where he belongs...
51.
Keon ColemanWR Florida State - Is he a WR or TE? I don't care about his 40 time - the kid can be WR2 by mid-season.
84.
Zach FrazierOC West Virginia - Glory, glory, hallelujah. Nothing else needs to be said.
98.
Xavier LegetteWR South Carolina - I see a lot of Juju in Xavier's game. Plus we need more talent in the slot...
119.
Braden FiskeDT Florida State - I like this kid's game. Interior biggie w/ a super-duty motor!!!

Max MeltonCB Rutgers - I think Trice comes back and plays better than expected. Melton is insurance.

I'd be stoked IF this happened. Very rare to get lucky in the "draw" like this. I do think Melton will be had late BUT Fiske @ #119, WOW!Not my final mock; but this haul is pretty darn good...

I have to ask why?Not a fan of TWO WRs before adding much needed depth on DL.
Hey Berm…….knowing that you watch all the ‘Bama games, your honest opinion/scouting of Jermaine Burton. Many of us have him penciled in 3rd round. Not my final mock; but this haul is pretty darn good...

Fully agree Steelerfan. Pickens definitely has not even proven himself as a #1 yet. Has the potential to….but not there yet. It’s a huge year for him and his future this season. Let’s see how he handles it. Can you imagine if he gets injured. It would not surprise me at all if they take a WR as a first rounder, depending if there’s one they like there. I believe they will double up too.I have to ask why?
George Pickens is a ? as WR1 and then there's absolutely nothing behind him. The Steelers are returning their starting 3 DL from last season with Heyward, Ogunjobi, and Benton and have Leal, Adams, Loudermilk, and now Lowry as experienced depth.
If the Steelers get Malachi Corley as a slot WR, that will open Pickens to blow the top off of the defense. This kid runs angry and may be the steal of the draft.Fully agree Steelerfan. Of course Kahn will work some type of trade in for extra pick or player and there will be the usual assortment of players to pick over. So the draft might not be the only route to pickup an extra WR.
OK, fair enough question, here is my answer.I have to ask why?

Team has a decent history with WRs with issues. We still have players wanting out. That is about as recent as it gets so no thank you on WRs that come with character question marks.
IMO, he's talented but also can be a tempermental head case. i'd pass on him.
other than Pickens - and i'm of no opinion on his demeanor/character at this point - we have WRs on roster who aren't me-first.Team has a decent history with WRs with issues. Other than Pickens we have a barn (that we didn’t paint with a broad brush) full of not good enough. Their character question marks seem non existent but we can say that about their play on the field too. I was referencing DJ that was just shipped off. Plenty of problems before him too.other than Pickens - and i'm of no opinion on his demeanor/character at this point - we have WRs on roster who aren't me-first.
my dark horse we take in the draft is Brian Thomas.Other than Pickens we have a barn (that we didn’t paint with a broad brush) full of not good enough. They need to bring in strong character football types. Avoid mistakes of the past by not repeating them moving forward.
All fair points, but if we were talking Benton and then a guy like Leal, Loudermilk, and a scrub off the streets as the top 4, then I'd be more concerned. The Steelers have a high-end WR2 and a bunch of guys who wouldn't crack the top 4 for most teams.OK, fair enough question, here is my answer.
1. Cam, 35 years old coming off a serious enough of an injury that it required two surgeries (I believe). His stats (mostly from injury) crapped the bed. At 35 years old, the odds of him all-of-a-sudden performing like a 28 year-old are slim to none. More likely is he will get injured again. (And his cap hit of $22 mill is doing no one favors except for him and his HC who thrives from doing his buddy players favors, such as allowing Cam to keep his salary at his age.) A DT thriving at 35 and hitting a peak performance will virtually be the 1st time in NFL history. Allowing a 35-year-old DT to have a $22 mill cap hit is egregious.
2. Larry O, another older vet with continuing injury history. He's 29 with an arrow pointing downward. In the last 2 years, he's averaging 23 tackles and 2 sacks per season after averaging 35 tackles and 5.5 sacks per year at his peak in 2 years at Cleveland. He's not a "bad" player but he's not a really good player in his prime. His best years are behind him.
3. Benton. A good, promising, young player. We need at least another one.
4. Leal, a tweener without a position. A lot of Steeler fans were enthralled when he was drafted. He hasn't turned out to be that good of a player, sorry to say. Another Colbert/Tomlin miss on draft day.
5. Adams, a decent back up, we need starters.
6. Loudermilk, maybe an OK backup, not even sure about that.
A NT is the most crucial player on a 3-4 D, Tomlin has never learned that. That is the reality of the situation. We need DL help more than one 5th rounder. We will draft one WR early unless we make a trade beforehand. But 2 WRs before bothering to address the DL? Not prudent.
Not disagreeing, WR needs help bad, but not 2 WR picks before the DL even gets 1 draft pick. Our starting DL has a 35-year-old and a guy turning 30. Both players are suffering from recent injuries. Then we got one young, promising player. The only other 3 DLmen are unlikely starting material. We NEED another young promising player. All fair points, but if we were talking Benton and then a guy like Leal, Loudermilk, and a scrub off the streets as the top 4, then I'd be more concerned. You are debating aging vs a position that doesn’t have a second and third option. They cleared the pantry. I get the aging is a concern but they brought in a vet and resigned a NT. A QB can’t throw to himself. They need multiple players. Not disagreeing, WR needs help bad, but not 2 WR picks before the DL even gets 1 draft pick. No denying we need multiple players at WR, but that doesn't preclude taking 2 WRs before drafting even 1 DL. But this is a Shades' team, which so far means not prioritizing the lines enough - a major faulty plan, and he's been doing it for over a decade. You are debating aging vs a position that doesn’t have a second and third option.
