2024 draft simulator.

Alright with the new hire, my strategy will probably shift and this is my first look with a PFF 3-round.

1.20 Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon
-The Steelers don't draft west coast guys. That should change, especially with the talent coming from the Pac-12 this year. JPJ is getting more hype now that we are in draft season and is at the top of a lot of draft boards. Value is in the 2nd round, I just don't know if JPJ or Frazier make it to the Steelers in the second. A reach based on current draft rankings? Yes. Oh well, going against my personal philosophy to solidify the interior OL.

2.52 Kris Jenkins, DL, Michigan
-Another Big 10 IDL in the second for the Steelers. I'd be cool with Benton and Jenkins dominating the trenches for years to come.

3.84 Javon Bullard, S, Georgia
-Let's get Minkah some help with a productive safety from Georgia. A little undersized, he's been a productive player and a really good value in the third round.

I think they could trade down in 1 and still get JPJ. But like Broderick last year he is growing on me. I think the guy is the complete package at the position. The best C available...If they trade down I think they could 1 2 punch C and RT maneuvering...

PFF's dang paywall doesn't allow trades lol.

I agree a trade down is ideal. What would hold me up is if one of the top 4 CBs are on the board. The thought of finding another stud to line up opposite of Porter Jr. would be huge. If needed at that point, trade up in the second to secure your center.

I'll wait till after the SR bowl to see if Powers is a rnd 1 guy, right now I think we can easily trade to early- mid r

True. I was already thinking the dependent Watt defense might be less dependent with a CB pairing.

That is my thinking of a C low 1 high 2 to snag JPJ.

Another thing is the type of centers that we have had that bring the leadership like Pouncey, Hartings, and Dawson that set the tone for the unit, I think drafting Zac Zinter phenomenal run blocker and a tone setter in the locker room.
Converting him to C could give the line from LT-RG a solid core
Jones Semulu Zinter Daniels draft Mims and you have solid OL

TRADE BACK: Boosted the interior trenches early, added a falling WR, and found a future starting ILB.
1.26 Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon

2.51 Byron Murphy II, DL, Texas

2.57 Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon

3.84 Cedric Gray, ILB, UNC

NO TRADE: Potential stud CB in the first, No. 2 center in the second, and solidified the defensive backfield in the third. Wiggins has the potential to be the best player, just not as much depth in this draft as the first.
1.20 Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson

2.51 Zach Frazier, C, WVU

3.84 Javon Bullard, S, Georgia

If Munchak comes back then we could possibly pass on OL in round 1. I dont feel our talent is as bad as they played with the exception of Cole. Interior DL is weak, ILB is weak, CB is weak, but i think we should start with the trenches and work out. I do not want to see them use the first pick on WR, QB, TE, or RB. Everything else should be on the table

Wish all trades were this easy...

OT went fast, restructuring Chukes, to keep him
20 CB Arnold Bama put another playmaker on the edge opposite of peezy JR
51 ILB Cooper A&M total beast excellent range solid vs the run, kinda resembles a faster Farrior
84 Zinter UM I draft with the full intention of converting him to C and grooming him as my future OL captain, great locker room kid
119 WR Mcmillian a playmaker fast and YAC yards a solid replacement for Robinson
128 OT Goncalves huge RT, developmental body
196 DT Jefferson LSU a fresh big body to push Leal and if Cam is back learn under him, but send Watts packing and push Loudermilk
201 C Nugent Depth for both C and both G spots hard working blue collar OL works very hard pushing the pile, did a superb job pushing the Pile for both Wolverine RB's
237 CB Storm Duck Penn ST raw but good size good to pick and develop into a nickel CB or convert to S
249 P Tory Taylor big P with a monster leg. He has led the NCAA and Big Ten in punts and punting yards in back-to-back seasons and was a consensus All-American in 2023.
I am sick and tired of Harvin.

I've seen JPJ mocked in the top 20. If he is there, I'd grab him. The dude from WVU is the 2nd or 3rd best C with Van Pran. JPJ is definitely No. 1 from everything I've seen.

Yeah he probably goes bottom 1 top 2. If the Steelers want him 20 probably is the spot

OT and OC are still very high on my board.
