Russ is not perfect but i have no idea how people come away with blaming Russ as if he's the main reason the offense isn't working. Russ is one of the few things on offense that does occasionally work. If you give him some actual time to throw and an open WR, he can make plays.

But Justin Fields has a perfect passer rating in hypothetical land.

That's not exactly high praise. And, those who have watched Tomlin stick with Russ while he took sacks, ran himself into sacks, threw INTS and fumbled away balls over the last 5 regular season gamesQB remember a time when Fields was playing and NOT giving the ball away to the other team. That's an improvement over what Russ has given us.
In any event, it's a sad state of affairs when the highest compliment there is for the starting QB is "He doesn't suck all the time and occassionally he is able to do something".

Teryl Austin is signed through 2026 for those who want to know....I'll be wishing the best for LJ assuming the game continues as it is. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a Ring.

Offense scores more with Russ. There was no passing game with Fields. Russ played fairly well until the OL disintegrated down the stretch.
