Not good timing for the Steelers.
Willis is probs the best qb option.

Any good corners hitting free agency?

I think they should try and retain Echols and Asante Samuel and try and restructure Ramsey and keep him at safety with Elliot and let Ramsey play closer to the box. This core secondary could be the best in the league. The more Asante was playing he was actually getting back to form.

Player Completion % Allowed
Passer Rating Allowed
2025 PFF Grade
Jamel Dean 43.1% 41.384.9
Sauce Gardner~45% 53.576.9
Jaylen Watson~52% ~68.076.4
Asante Samuel Jr.~58% ~98.0

Samuel had somewhat of a limited example probably enough to go with a different corner who had more reps and better outcomes.

I think I'd go for Tariq Woolen in FA. Per Spotract, his contract value would be $8 mil
That would certainly give us some quality secondary play with Peezy Jr, Woolen, Ramsey and Elliott.

though now that I've said that, he'll be Super Bowl MVP.

I am thinking Ramsey might be a cut..

that wouldnt be economical at all.

Didn't we trade for him? Which would mean there are no cap hits for us? I know we boosted his salary but we shouldn't take any massive hits if he is released. That is how it use to be anyway.

I think ramsey’s hit is 18 mil, he may be a casualty. You can bring in a full fledge good asset (ramsey is learning the position) and still have a little left over.

EDIT: Maybe they can restructure him to be more cap friendly. I also see the $$$dollar$$$ swing more towards the offensive side of the ball. Less likely highest paid defense anymore.

Salute the nation

Supe, according to Over The Cap, Ramsey has no more guaranteed money left. if we cut Ramsey and his $19 mil before 6/1 there is no cap hit. We gain $19 mil in cap space.

Ramsey knew it was a one year thing, especially the way he played late in year. Jonnu looked liked he didn’t want be here and was completely disengaged..
That trade looks terrible now…
Let’s get mikah back..

Yeah, it would be worth looking at a restructure-of course all that does is kick the can down the road-however, a restructure with Ramsey would be worth it. He stepped up as a for sure leader of the secondary and the defense in general and plays his butt off. The secondary hasn’t had a leader like Ramsey in a long while

I might disagree, Give Ramsey a full offseason and preseason at safety and he may be worth every penny. Particularly with a new DC who seemingly knows how to get more out less. With some real talent and better defensive calls that are less predictable we may see a huge upswing from a lot of guys.

Ramsey has the restructure shotgun staring at him if he wants to stay. Jonnu will be cut for sure, even with A-Rod favoring him they weren’t on the same page.

We can’t trade for Minkah. League rules apply. However if he’s cut by MIA, he then could sign as a FA. Thing is would he want to? I loved Minkah, I felt like he wasn’t the problem because he was covering up everyone else’s mistakes on the backend. He couldn’t play his game.He and Elliott could’ve been Troy/RC like.

I'd look for a younger safety though

i stand corrected.
Ramsey's got no guaranteed money on the books. so ...

saw one article where we could be moving him to Buffalo for a 4th, but then the article goes on to say Buffalo is tight against the cap and would need restructuring. Doubt that happens, but getting a 4th round pick for a guy we rented for a year isnt a bad return at all.

I saw that - it looked more like one of those speculative clickbait spitballing articles for the sake of putting something on the web, than having any remote substance to it.

The last two paragraphs in the article basically negates everything said previously:

"Even if Ramsey agrees, we're not sure Buffalo would be keen on giving up a fourth-round pick for him.

The Bills would be better off simply re-signing White, who had much better coverage numbers than Ramsey and would cost a lot less."

The take-away I got is we should be open to trading him. If not - then we’ll hopefully be drafting a Safety to sit behind him for a season.
