Steelers only had two receivers with 40 plus catches last year. You replace AB by having 5 that can get you 40 plus.
We already have 3 in JuJu, Washington, Rogers, you just add 2 more. Hopefully 1 from free agency and 1 from draft.
Not sure of his health, but wouldn't mind a Wallace reunion on 2 yr deal. He can still get you 40 plus.
Steelers actually have an opportunity to have a better overall group of receivers than 2018.

Rogers only played 3 games, but caught balls at 60 plus pace.

Eli Rogers is currently a UFA.

5 wide is dead. We need to go back to what got us championships in bens early years. Great defense good running game. Occasional shots down field

Bell was our 5th WR, and a damn good one

Its time for Ben to demand a trade, he deserves better than an 8-8 organization

Steelers are tanking it by letting their best players walk

Vance can put up numbers, as can Conner and Samuels out of the backfield

It's funny. Vance had some huge early games ,then disappeared for many. I don't know how many times I was yelling to use the TE more. Now,I don't know if this was because our OC or HC had there head up their *** ,or other teams adjusted to his success. I believe that Vance could be one of the top receiveing TE's in the league, and what held his progress back last year was the constant pressure to give AB the ball.

It will truly be an interesting year. The ultimate test in coaching, and as usual, our success will fall on big Ben's shoulders. He will truly need a game of patience this year. As Coryea stated, our HB's can catch the ball,I see a more ball control O, go for the first downs a whole lot more rather than the homeruns. As great of a reciever as AB was for us,there was just too much pressure to go to him. He really was a me first *******.

Like I said in another thread, I think our offense has a chance to be much more efficient without having to try to keep AB happy.

??? Have you been watching NFL football the last few years ???

I just watched a SuperBowl where a high flying offense had it's *** handed to it by a scrub defense due to scheme and good solid play. Winning games is more than the scoring track meet some people make it out to be.

I wonder if a lot of his later season drop offs in production was because Baby Antonio was pouting and throwing a fit for the ball. I'm looking forward to seeing his production go up this year without Antonio being around out to get 'his'.

The point of the title "5 Wide" wasn't that you run 5 wide most of the time. The point was having a solid 5 receiver group can lead to more production, than
relying on 2 starters. Steelers seemed to just rely on 2 starters in 2018.

Indeed they can. They led us deep into the playoffs last year....:jagoff:

Yeah, just like AB lead us deep into the playoffs last year as well uh?

You're right. That lies at the feet of our talented young coach. He interviews very well, y'know.

Meanwhile, the Ravens add RB Mark Ingram and S Earl Thomas

NFL history highest ever $21M in dead money cant buy happiness

JuJu, Washington, Rogers, Montcreif and using a 2nd or 3rd rd pick on WR. Steelers have a better group of receivers than 2018.
They could even keep Switzer for return duties and occasional receiver plays.

Switzer was better than Rogers (when he finally played) last year. With his return duties, Rogers and/or DHB should be gone this year.

LOL....."Great Defense".....How about we settle for just a "Good" defense and a "Great" running? Seems a bit more reasonable. And I'll take an "AWESOME" passing game on top of those two also. Might as well sprinkle in some above average Coaching. That would help out a ton. Probably the one thing that has held use back the most. Coaching on the defensive side of the ball has been ......simply...."Horrible".

Agree, our current depth chart looks like this: Juju, Donte, JW, Switzarmy, Eli. I really think we can wait until later rounds for a WR after the Donte signing, I'm thinking TE is a bigger priority and itcan help a lot to have 2 TE sets available for imposing the run game

First, has Eli Rogers been signed as I'm thinking he is a URFA. Second, I'm in the TE and a good one who can actually do something.

Tj Hockenson can get you 40 plus catches and throw some mean blocks for the run at pick 20. Two TE sets baby!

I would LOVE us to draft him.
But.....

1) He won't be there at 20, so we'd need to trade up to probably the top 10....which I don't see happening
B) We need defensive help really bad
III) No way another Heath Miller "fall" down the draft board happens again to have him fall in our laps
