'89 Steelers

I like watching the teams of old, it was real football and you had some tough players, not like today's wusses.

I really liked Hardy Nickerson a lot and was glad for a short time.

There just isn't much more than can be said about Noll and his coaching, just awesoe !!!

Thanks for the find and post JMM

I remember Bubby cussing in the post game interview after we beat the Oilers.

Back in them days where I live, STEELERS information was pretty limited (no internet) but I liked his name. Yeppers I based my like for the guy due to how his name rolled of while saying it.

It was amazing how much he even sounded like TB. I always had to do a double take to make sure TB hadn't found his way back to the mic. They had to have been brothers from a different mother.

He was actually a pretty damn good QB for a rush heavy offense. He was the first in Cowher's poor QB decisions. I think he'd been better off sticking with him but what do I know.

Who was the better QB. Brister or O'donnell?

Wished that Bubby was kept on the team IMHO. Too bad that never developed well.

that was the year we started out 0-2 with a 51-0lost to Cleveland correct? We almost beat Denver in the second round of playoffs if I recall

You are correct sir... It was like 92-10 after 2 games.

I Remember playing in Denver,, and Merrill Hoge going crazy in the first half.. and the second half i think he was gassed due to oxygen.

From what I remember most of the team was gassed with 3-4 minutes left to go.

Maybe not but why question reality.....when you can so easily question the hypothetical...

I never QUESTION either..................... I just live them!

0-2 and gave up 92 points I believe. Cleveland 51 & bungles 41 (I think)

He was literally half the QB Bradshaw was though..

That’s why he wore number 6.

That was the season I got back into Steelers football, after not really caring about sports for a few years in high school and after. It didn't start out so well, haha. I remember a local radio guy in Ohio saying "...and the browns managed to edge the Steelers, 51 to nothing"

Hoge was a beast in the playoffs, Woodson and Lloyd were really starting to kick ***, and I believe we beat both the clowns and bungles the second time around.

Come on with the rose colored memories though.... Bubby always sucked!! Poor passer, poor decisions... He was pretty tough, though... Oh, no, they're showing his mom again in the stands, lol.

Now the real "what could have been" was Tim Worley. I think he would have kicked *** in Cowher's offense. Too bad Worley was such a dumbass back then.

Yep----remember it well Mean Jim...
I lived in Sandusky, Ohio at the time and my Browns fan buddy sent his kid over with a Browns do-rag so I could "cry into it"...

That was a fluke I tell Stain fans.
If they were truly 51-0 better than us then we wouldn't have shut them out until the 4th quarter in the rematch

That 90's team shoulda had a ring.
I remember fans wanting to run Cowher out of town,
