A Little Birdie Told Me That...

Idk this entire Rodgers situation is really leaving a bad taste for me. This is not the same QB of five years ago when he was a Packer and a league MVP.
His mobility is really almost non existent and behind our young still a work in process OL, this could get ugly.
Also, will he pull his usual act of wanting some of his guys on the team? If things go wrong it should get interesting when he starts playing the blame game.
Oh well, we shall see!
Just like Ben's last year, did nothing to build a decent Oline, instead they drafted a guard in round 3 and moved him to Center.

One year QB rental.... like last year, except there was 2 of 'em. No long term fix, just another bandaid.
The trifecta of Art, Clown-lin and Kahn continues to give us a s-- show, nothing has changed in over a decade. Oh, the GM has, but not the results.

Several members of the Steelers' offense wanted Justin Fields to return as their quarterback. And also that they do expect Rodgers to come to Pittsburgh -- it is practically a done deal at this point, just not officially announced yet.

Take it for what it's worth, but my source spoke directly to a player who starts for the Steelers.

Is said player someone who was drafted while they still used the Wonderlic test? If so I would bet his score was in the single digits.

Fields will more than likely be out of the league in a few years. Luckily he got a good bag from the Jets....there is a reason they are the Jets.

Fields would dominate in the CFL or UFL

I'm going to start calling Ben "Band-Aid Ben." Just how much of the gaping wound that is the Mike Tomlin coached Steelers did Ben cover up for? 60...70...80%?

So true. I think this is why there were so many 4th quarter come backs by Ben. He threw the coaching crap in the bucket and did what was needed to win.

All of it, but now that we've seen the real Tomlin, it's safe to say those early year were masked by great players and coaches that were already in place, I'm a diehard Steelers fan, but I think it's ridiculous that he'll(Tomlin) be in the HOF, can anyone name one thing he does well when it comes to coaching?
He kept AB under wraps so well. No that was Ben getting him the ball, AB starting running his mouth after a win when Landry had to start a couple games.
I guess he can delegate when legit NFL coaches are forced on him.

I think no matter how it goes, Tomlin is going to be linked to this decision for a long time. It may be the reason he's out the door sooner, could also be the reason he gets an extension. If it goes like most here expect, it might even effect his next job, if he chooses to still coach. And when I say, "no matter how this goes", I'm including the possibility that he doesn't even sign here. Rooney said he trusts what Tomlin is doing, could be a washing of his hands type moment for Rooney. Lots of guessing right now on all sides, on all outcomes.

This is the last place you want your franchise to be, and it inevitably happens to all franchises, but finding that franchise QB to lead your team for the next decade plus...it's not fun. Makes you really appreciate Ben all that more.
Of course we all know that Tomlin would have a job in 5 minutes if he ever left the Steelers for whatever reason lol he's that hot as a known commodity.

Expensive bandaid, last year’s was cheap for the two………. Still a delay cost of time for the franchise.

I’ve said before, if you are standing still, you are going backwards.

Yeah, Aditi Kinkhabwala is typically mimicking what players tell her, and she was insanely pro Fields... my guess was they werent as sold on Fields as the players. I think they concluded early on that if they were gonna have to guarantee 30 million to fields or meet Wilsons early asking price, they may as well give Rodgers a shot.. I just hope they dont think Rodgers is worth 45 million or more...

Youiiiikkkkkeeeess, I’m back another $10mil. I was hoping less than $35 mil, either way it’s a bad move for long term and a semblance of putting a team together.

if that happens and A-aron makes marketing coin, I'm hopeful that the Steelers both understand this and have a reasonable contract that gives them some benefit (lower cap hit) for his non-Steeler marketing biz that will clearly use the Steelers.

Also, if this happens, I wonder about all the other players attempting similar; a clear one-off is a must.

His announcement intentions will be in his Steelers contract. It’s the part of holding the Steelers hostage and the “man-crush” honeymoon HC allowing it.

I’d like to see this theory tested.

Is it only me that senses Rodgers having a strange demeanor about him?
I hope I’m reading him wrong, but he looks disinterested.
Only driven to get the contract he wants. If he happens not to live up to his reputation on the field so be it.
The guys bizarre, no doubt.

I think getting an aged future HOF QB is a high risk/high reward situation. The variables are too numerous to consider.

I'm more interested in what the team does to improve the defensive side of the ball.

Say whatever you want about Rodgers.... I'm reasonably confident we will score more total points than we did in any of the previous 3 seasons if he plays the full year without injury.

I fondly recall the days when our Def had 3rd and 8 or more.... It was pretty much a guaranteed punt. We give up 3rd and 10 first downs like candy..... It's exasperating to watch.

That's the story anyway. But do you think that if this Rodgers situation crashes and burns as hard as some think that wouldn't give any other team pause for concern?

Badcat is a Bad@ss Muth-er ****-er………….. Good source to have.!!!!
