A Little Birdie Told Me That...

Pat McAfee has an event in Pittsburgh at PPG Arena this coming Wednesday. What are the odds that Rogers appears and makes his announcement then?
I've heard that date bandied about, but not particularly from my source. Timing of the announcement wasn't discussed.

Is said player someone who was drafted while they still used the Wonderlic test? If so I would bet his score was in the single digits.

Fields will more than likely be out of the league in a few years. Luckily he got a good bag from the Jets....there is a reason they are the Jets.
As a matter of fact, yes. And you would lose that bet, because said player scored much higher than average on the Wonderlic test.

But I'm sure that you, @Gildong Sack, must have more insight into the type of player Justin Fields is, rather than somebody who's actually shared the field with him.

That's the story anyway. But do you think that if this Rodgers situation crashes and burns as hard as some think that wouldn't give any other team pause for concern?

Absolutely not... it would be Dan Bylsma 2.0... someone would rush to hire him despite a lot of evidence of his flaws...

Fields will probably be in the leagie a long time and may see a major step forward after spending time on several teams... he has the arm talent, if developed... we have seen a lot of guys like Darnold, Mayfield and Geno Smith click after multiple stops.. so it happens..

The thing is Fields was never a Tomlin type QB... he wasnt super protective of the Ball and wasnt really a come from behind/ win it late type QB... I feel like his move yo the wretched Jets meant he knew he wasnt really the pick here and wouldnt likely have a long term future

I’ve thrown that date out as well. I have NO Colberasion of any kind other than I listen to Pat McAfee often. He has said he has a big announcement coming up, but won’t (obviously) comment of what it’s about.

Geriatric QB is a guest on Pat’s show often.

What's with all the hostility? I thought my comment was funny other than the Fields comment which 40+ years of football as a hobby tells me he'll be done in a few. Nothing against the guy, just an opinion based on tons of watching these type guys come and go.

I was a proponent of re-signing Fields. He certainly has his flaws, but he also has the athletic tools to be successful. I was hoping to see what Justin could do under the same coordinator for a second consecutive season, but now he'll be learning yet another new system in New York. Which, of course, was ultimately his choice, but I feel like had the same contract been offered in Pittsburgh, he probably would have stayed.

It was still comforting to learn that several of his teammates also wanted him back as well.

I thought that your comment, which insinuated that said player was stupid simply because he and others on the offense wanted the Steelers to bring Fields back, was rather hostile. So I responded in kind. But if you were trying to be amusing, I guess I read it wrong. No worries.

Yeah, Aditi Kinkhabwala is typically mimicking what players tell her, and she was insanely pro Fields... my guess was they werent as sold on Fields as the players. I think they concluded early on that if they were gonna have to guarantee 30 million to fields or meet Wilsons early asking price, they may as well give Rodgers a shot.. I just hope they dont think Rodgers is worth 45 million or more...

Aditi has a crush on me, I see it all the time while I’m watching her in her interviews……………………….
