Mark Milley Vanilli is accomplished at the lip-lock on politicians. As Ogre has pointed out, he is one of the few top-ranking military officials to survive the Obama purge.

Oh, and remember how the hundreds of dismissals of military commanders was yawned at and ignored by (D)imbos? And those who pointed out the Obama purge was based on ideology not competence were labeled "conspiracy theorists"? I do. This from 2013:

And we wonder at the utter incompetence of military leadership in Afghanistan, and soon-to-be Taiwan?
