A word on sportsmanship...

Let me be clear. I was saying the 6th TD pass was justified. I was contesting the Ravens attempting to score late in the game.

Okay, I get it.

I had no clue what the Ravens were doing when the got the ball with 2:30 to go in the 4th, down by 20. Down 14, 15 or 16? Sure, okay. Quick TD, 2-point conversion, onsides kick, etc. But down TWENTY POINTS with a little more than 2 minutes left?

Taking a timeout? Spiking the ball with 0:02 seconds left?

What the ... ?? Run the ball 3 times, get on the plane and go home. You lost.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think that was drawn up for Spaeth to score. Not exactly the fastest guy on the field. I'm glad they did, though. Finish a team.

If they had not made the 1st down the clock would have stopped anyway. So not a bad call and I don't expect that kind of sportsmanship at the pro level.

i really dont think they did the play to get a TD , but to get the firstdown. Brown did a short crossing route and Spaeth who hasnt had a catch on the season pulls in the long TD...Now if they would of went down field to Brown or Wheaton maybe i would think they were trying for the record, but Spaeth? Really?

Why should anyone be upset that they played to the final whistle? The alternative is to concede, that's not exactly good either.

I do not feel bad for one second that they scored that TD. I wish they could have dropped 60 points on them. I love the fact that Ben slammed them for 6 TD's. That's a dirty team led by a classic jerk.

i agree....i just dont think that play was a play that they gave Ben to get his 6th TD...it just happened to produce a TD...which is always good.

I was talking about the Ravens trying to get in a last play. While I don't get wound up about tams who just take their beating and move on, in a big rivalry game I don't know that it's a good idea to quit no matter the score. I would make sure to remind my starters to watch their knees and such, but both teams did what they thought they had to do, and I'm good with both.

As much as I hate those twits, it was actually a possible good coaching decision. The teams split games. maybe they have the same records. maybe they beat the same common opponents somewhere in there is a tie breaker that has head to head score or points or something like that. Getting any points would have made the Ravens loss by less points than the steelers loss. Not sure it could go all the way to that but if you can get it why not?

I remember this game where the Ravens ran a fake XP for a two point conversion to go up 29-7 and Harbum celebrated like he just won the lottery.

So sorry if I don't give a **** about the Rats and whether or not the Steelers were running up the score. Those guys love to shoot their mouths off, play like dirty little dicks, and wear their "**** Pittsburgh" shirts because they are eternally jealous of the Steelers. So **** them, let them soak in that one for awhile.

We've seen three td's in three minutes... I hope they never let up again.

**** this "dick move" and "class" bullshit. The objective of the game is to score points. In this age of Goodell football, the league wants teams to score more points. I have never complained about a team running up the score, and I will always be the first to say we should put our foot on the gas pedal and keep it down for four quarters. How many games have the Steelers lost in the last decade because they let up and let some ****** team hang around late in the game? I'm ******* sick to death of it. If I never see another heartbreaking last-minute come-from-behind loss again, it'll be too ******* soon. My only disappointment in the game last night after that late trash-time TD to pad Ben's stat line was that we couldn't line up and do it again before the end of the game. **** the Ravens, **** losing, and **** anyone who whines about running up the score.

All of this, right here. Good post.

Actually it was Spaeth who caught the 2 point conversion earlier, so technically he had a catch on the season. Although, it wasn't like they called that play to be thrown to him. Just "Wing"ed it. Hardy har.

technically i dont believe a 2 pt conversion shows up as a reception on the stat sheet.....thats why i said it was his first catch....but yes. my point was they didnt call that play to throw it Spaeth for Bens 6th TD....

From Harbaugh's reaction to the 2 pt conversion, you can bet he believes the Steelers planned it. His goal at the end of the game was to NOT lose by 20 points. He wanted that slight advantage for tie breakers if it ever comes down to that.

It was great to see the wtf look on the other side of the field for a change.

Who ever believes that this was poor sportsmanship, are probably the same ones who think all kids should get a participation-ship award, for playing in the game. This was a first down attempt, that closed as a touchdown. The ratbirds are pukes, dirty players, and just generally not liked by steelers and fans. Piss on the side of your leg for starting this thread, then piss on your head, if you actually believe its unsportsman like. LOL
