Aaron Rodgers Is Our Guy

I responded to the claim that Japan bad because civilians were killed by their bombs.

News alert: A ****-ton more Japanese and German civilians were killed than British, French, and American civilians combined.

"yEaH, tHeY StArTeD iT!" Agreed. So if you don't start the conflict, you are free to kill hundreds of thousands of civilians? So if you want to toss criticism at Japan for killing civilians, concede that the United States killed VASTLY, EXPONENTIALLY more civilians (German and Japanese) than did Japan.

He has done some good things (border mainly) but the Iran war was completely unnecessary and is going to lead to a problem in the midterms. And I am genuinely pissed about the war because he literally promised to avoid this very thing during the campaign, the hostilities provide no benefit to the United States and the conflict led to numerous very clear detrimental changes (Hormuz issues, oil, gasoline among them).

Regime change. Great. I mean it failed in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya Somalia, and Syria, but THIS TIME, it's going to work!!
I would argue that the US saved more lives long term by dropping the 2 bombs and ending the war immediately.
The US did everything they could to stay out of WW2 until they were attacked. For you to compare that to the us attacking a bunker that most likely contain a nuclear weapon is crazy.
The us could easily destroy Iran with hitting al l oil fields, non military targets etc. They do not.

The Us did kill more citizens in ww2 than Japan. You are correct.
Do you think that has anything to do with where the war was actually fought and won? I am going out on a crazy limb and say yes. Thank God yes.

Unlike you guys I don't have the Intel that says the "war" with Iran wasn't needed. But I can say an Iran that is run by the nut jobs will always be a enemy of our way of life.

The United States dropped atomic bombs on two civilian targets. I don't think anybody really disputes that. The justification that doing so saved lives is, shall we say, tenuous. It is nothing more really than an older version of "we had to destroy the village to save the village."

The current conflict with Iran is a quagmire, and I don't mean the Family Guy character. I really hope I'm wrong but history over the past 50 years teaches us that these "regime change" wars never end well for the United States.

Oh, and Iran is a 5,000 year old civilization. Trump's braying about destroying that civilization was completely insane. His rant was a mirror image of shrieking from some tinhorn 3rd world nutjob.
