Aaron Rodgers Signing With The Pittsburgh Steelers Is Reportedly “Heating Up”

I have spent alot of time trying to figure out the best qb for us next year. Rodgers, Wilson,
Minshew, number 1 draft pick. nope

Its Ben

Yeah, same here. I don't keep up on other teams' backup quarterbacks so I just now watched Minshew and Trubisky speaking at a presser or something on YouTube and Minshew reminds me of a yakking '70's porn star. Trubisky much better to stomach but can he deliver behind our O-line?

How about somehow we clone a 2008 or so Ben? Or rebuild the rest of the team and get a draft pick later.

Wilson is young enough that you could justify a trade, but what he costs cap wise and draft capital ( they are talking multiple firsts) would leave the team extremely shorthanded somewhere
I read the Steelers aren't on Wilson's list.

I've been flip-flopping on this, but ultimately both Wilson and Rodgers are unrealistic given all the circumstances. Wilson would be the safer bet IMO but like has already been mentioned, they'd have to give way too much up to get him - and if we're not on his radar (understandable), case closed. I'm liking Sarge's idea of Minshew. Is Mitch Trubisky a total lost cause? Because didn't he sign only a 1-year deal with Buffalo to be a back-up?
Trubisky is on a one-year deal for $2.5 million. Minshew is under contract for one more year (his rookie deal), and is due to make $965,000 in 2022. The Eagles stole him from Jacksonville for a sixth round pick. I wouldn't mind seeing the Steelers giving either of these guys a chance, but I'd imagine that Philadelphia would be unlikely to part with Minshew next year.

Now, there's talk out there about Ryan. I don't want any of these guys unless it is just to compete with Rudolph and our plans are still to draft someone in a year or two. We should not be spending $40 million per on any 35+ QB.
