AI gives all-time best team under Cowher.

No disrespect to Harris or Bettis but Bell averaged the highest scrimmage yards per game in the history of the runningback position (129)
Bell is in a class of his own statistically and during Parkers short 3 year run had him winning 2 superbowls and leading the league in rushing over the likes of Ladanian Tomlinson. He did alot of the heavy lifting with a young Ben at QB.

A YOUNG Ben ????

2004 Ben, 9 years in the NFL

2013 Bell

Salute the nation

Bell and parker each had 3 great years then were done. Franco and Bettis were both centerpieces of run first offenses and had eight thousand yard seasons as well as several other productive seasons… they played to 34 and 33 respectively… you can’t take the whole body of their work and put them anywhere but second tier… Heck Bell’s style would probably not have worked anywhere else anyhow… as we saw when he left… Ben’s unique style in the pocket coupled with Brown drawing all the extra coverage let Bells slow to develop runs work and his midrange routes be extra effective. It wasn’t like he had great vision or speed or size or moves anything.. he was patient until a hole he could recognize opened up… thats not usually how a rb is supposed to be…

Parker leaves after breaking right fibula in first quarter

ST. LOUIS -- Pittsburgh Steelers running back Willie Parker, the NFL's leading rusher, broke a bone in his lower right leg in the first quarter Thursday night of a 41-24 win over the St. Louis Rams.
Parker, who entered the game with 1,317 yards and consecutive 100-yard games, had one carry for a 1-yard loss before leaving the game. X-rays revealed the injury to be a fractured fibula.
Najeh Davenport, who entered the game with 349 yards and a 4.9-yard average, replaced Parker in the lineup.

Willie was on the way to being the NFL’s rushing leader. There was a lot of excitement in the old Steeler Nation. He never seemed to be the same after breaking his leg. What a shame that was. Did pretty damn good for an undrafted free agent I’d say.

Bell and Parkers peak 3 years was statistically better than any 3 year span for franco or bettis, By a country mile.
But yes longevity and durability 100% no argument for Harris or Bettis.

Parker ran with heart, legend in my book, and my favorite Steeler to watch. Guy was so exciting.
His cousin Jaylen reminds me alot of Parker not stylewise but, undrafted, undersized and underrated guy that plays with heart and intensity. Just a good football player.

Interesting. I think Farrior should have gotten the nod.
